I HAD THE BEST VALENTINES DAY IN THE WORLD!!!

Really though. Twas perfect. That's mostly what I'm going to talk about because it was lots of amazing steps in our relationship all rolled into one day.

THE GREAT!

We had already put on the table that Valentines Day was not to be an ordeal of any kind, because that's really not us. But then he came around and said it wasn't extravagant, but he did have plans for the day. We don't have an anniversary or anything (been together around 15 months but we just kind of go seasonally lol) so he wanted to celebrate us. So it was like Valentines + Anniversary date (:

First we went to a local antique/flea market-type fair with his parents (who we are really close with). He got me literally the cutest ladder in the world that I'm going to use as a coatrack. It's freaking perfect and the best present ever. Then we got a quick bite, and went to his place to hang out while he got a little bit of work done. In the late afternoon he packed his truck with a billion blankets and pillows, and told me we were going to the drive-in movies to have a picnic (we haven't done that in like a year but it's one of our favourite dates). We stopped by the store and grabbed charcuterie goodies and headed over.

RPW Victory Alert: The line was so long it took us over an hour to get in. The whole time in line he was saying it doesn't matter if we miss the first 5 minutes (by my guesstimation we were going to miss at least 15-20). I suggested we see a later version or just picnic minus movie, but he said "it's not a big deal". So I decided the movie wasn't in any way worth ruining our evening over and who cares what we miss. By the time we got to the front, it was 35 minutes in so he grabbed tickets for the next showing. I was prepared to accept any course of action but it worked out perfectly.

The whole time we are waiting in this line, we start talking very seriously about us (Eeeee!). We've frequently alluded to "when we move in" or "if we get married" or "what kids names do you like"...but this time we talked about a lot of specific details.

We hashed out a rough timeline for when we expect to be married. He works in a tumultuous industry and has reservations about getting married before he is settled, but also doesn't want to wait until our 30s or anything. I'm 23.5/He's 24.5 and I think we will get married by the time I'm 27, which is a little later than I'd like but if we do a long engagement and are living together I understand it's more traditionally symbolic to him to not be formally married until he's stable as stable can be.
We picked out 2 girls names we can agree on (agreeing on names has been hard). He likes really traditional names and I hate them. So we've been finding middle ground on words (think Summer or Autumn). Boys we are super struggling with haha.
We decided it's important to be married for a few years before kids, but kids should happen before 30, that's kind of what set our timeline.
We decided to raise them religiously, which was an issue I was worried about. He's very religious and I'm a bit of an atheist. But I was raised religiously and really appreciate how that helped develop my moral compass. My only fear was it would be like my upbringing ("believe in this or you die and burn in hell"), but he was 100% okay with being open and honest with them and letting them decide for themselves, which is all I wanted. They go to church with us until they are old enough to have their own opinion and then we can honor that.
We already live in the city we are laying down roots in, so we talked about different areas that we would prefer to raise them. It can be dicey around here in the sense that we have a wide range of neighboring towns that range from poor to middle class to stupid rich, and it's hard to pick a nice area where your kids won't grow up entitled assholes.
We even mused over how getting them their first car works (no matter how much we make, they get a beater they don't have to be afraid of crashing until they are 18).
He revealed its really important to him that I would be a SAHM. I've never thought about that life for myself (until RPW) because I grew up in one of the stupid rich communities. My parents were well enough off, but they definitely both worked. The SAHMs I was exposed to were actually "stay at home drink all day and pawn the kids off on whoever doing whatever drugs so I have more time alone with my Prozac". So I always looked down on SAHM, understandably. His mom was a very traditional SAHM, but the kind that used the time to be the soccer mom, den leader, art docent, you name it. That would be an honor for me to be.
Additionally, we met in our industry and I helped launch his startup firm (which is just him and he is slaying it). His work since then has been all his own merit, but he couldn't have started without me. So one luxury we have going for us is that I'm so plugged in to his work, I don't have to have a job to make money. He can throw projects at me and trust them to get done right and it all goes into his business which all goes into supporting us. Right now I obviously work my own job, but he does send me assignments here and there right now as well. So I can ease his burden in the home and in the office, which I love.
We sorted out how we expect finances to be managed, which we both were 100% that he manages them. He manages budgets for a living. I barely understand money, but I'm very responsible with it. So it makes sense for him to budget and me to execute.
We planned a few important features that we would want in our future home, and some ground rules for children (spending time in rooms all day is off limits). They can read or be mellow in there, but no hiding out, no TVs or computers.
And finally we agreed we could keep discussing all these things from here on out, the only thing we won't do is discuss timelines because that stresses him out. So it's fine to say "when we move in together", but not "that's happening this December right?". I think we both understand the loose timelines and they're perfectly fine. He thanked me for never pressuring him on those which was nice.

SO YOU CAN SEE WHY IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING DAY!!!! I'm over moon right now and of course I got my most romantic Valentines Day ladder gift d: which I love so much haha.

THE BAD

There wasn't a lot of bad but 2 days ago we got into a tiny spat. Fortunately it turned really constructive really quickly, but I struggle with two things: one is that my love language is physical touch, and he is the opposite. So I get really stressed out when my hand on his arm or something like that isn't well received, or if he hasn't touched me in a while. I also get confused about his job sometimes, it's hard to tell when he is stressed and working and when he isn't because he's stoic. Couple that with the fact that he could have 100% free time on a Monday afternoon, or be slammed to the gills on a Sunday morning. So pretty much those 2 things got me overwhelmed and I started crying. (Bad Pildorasamargas). He really quickly addressed all the issues and we set up a better system for him telling me "not now I'm busy" before I'm confused why he is being dismissive and then get upset.

But still, I went into total baby mode.

THE UGLY

Hmm. I've been getting better about my diet and exercise but I went from being a fanatic to having to take some time off and now getting back into it has been a slow process. I ran from my house to his house a few days ago which is about 2.5 miles, and I was prepared to run back but he gave me a ride d: so that was good, but more work to be done.

I HOPE SOMEONE COMMENTS TO SHARE MY JOY IN ALL OUR BIG VALENTINES DAY DISCUSSSIONS!!!!! That's the kind of thing I wouldn't really share with my friends or family at this point but I am just so beyond excited there are no words.

Alright, I pulled an all nighter on sunday night due to a tight deadline, so I didn't get a chance to type up a post. These are important for me, I want to stay on top of my game.

Self-reflection from Maui:

The good: We had an amazing time. I feel like I adapted to 'farm girl life' pretty well. My partner even complimented me for adjusting to it. Lots of mud and spiders, but for 20h/w of gardening and picking fruits and veggie, we got free accommodation and a community kitchen. The people on the farm were amazing. We woke up to a beautiful ocean view each morning and there was a passion fruit and papaya tree right outside our cabin. :) I will never forget it. I also had the most AMAZING sleeping patterns in Maui. I would go to bed around 9pm, and wake up around 5:30am. It felt so good.

The "bad": Our rental car had a hit and run and I got a UTI. But to be honest, I kept my behaviour under control and so did he. We handled these situations and didn't let them ruin our time. Sometimes the conversion (CAD to USD lol) was killing us and we got a little mopey about it. I think there were a couple times when I was letting it affect me too much, but he quickly got me to snap out of it.

The ugly: I definitely lost sight of my behaviour a few times. I battle some inner insecurity/jealousy when it comes to his female friends. However, I think I managed to move past it and learned, once again, that I need to trust in him and allow myself to be vulnerable. We had only one "argument" the whole trip. I felt like he was flirting with someone (tbh I think I was over-exaggerating just because she was sitting close with him, and she's apparently lesbian but she flirts with guys... a lot...:/). The way I approached the conversation was quite accusatory and he became offended. I realized the mistake I made and apologized for the way I approached the subject. He was reassuring and said he never wants me to feel this way. He then admitted that a guy had touched my hand when I was getting henna done and he felt temporarily angry about it. I actually didn't notice that the other dude had done this, so it was a good lesson. We generally stay close with one another anyway…but I really need to clean up my act in this area!

Self-reflection from the last week:

The good: We had an AMAZING Valentine’s day. I got him some stuff for India and a gift card to one of his favourite stores! I also baked him a chocolate cake for our anniversary hehe. He took me on a hike (i love hiking). We went for fast food after since it’s kind of our once every six months thing…and ordered four burgers…I know….I promise we are fit 90% of the time otherwise LOL. Then we went to a lovely restaurant in the evening.

The bad: My sleeping went out the window. I had the tightest deadline I’ve ever had. I actually took a “sick day” from my other job, which wasn’t great, but I needed the time to finish the project!

The ugly: Gym went OUT the window. I should have done some HIIT at home at least, but with allnighters and lack of sleep, I had zero energy and decided it wasn’t a great idea. TLDR…only went to the gym twice. Gained 5lbs. I was so close to my goal weight of 100lbs before I went to Maui..buuut now I have to start all over. Diet wasn’t the best this week either, ugh! I’m ashamed!

Moving forward...

My habibi is away for 28 days in India, backpacking. There is quite a large potential for me to sit around worrying about his safety, but he's smart and can handle himself. It was tough dropping him off at the airport, and he was actually sad about leaving and being apart for a month. I tried to cheer him up by looking at photos of India with him and the amazing sights he’s going to see!

Anyway, this is officially day 1/28 of monk mode!

I've got a mortgage and a lot of catching up to do with my savings. Financially, I'm pretty tight, and I want to work on giving myself more breathing room.

I have four goals while he’s away:

Regular sleeping patterns, similar to Maui
Track on MFP for 28 days (day one today)
Gym or run, every morning (tonight with friend)
Complete a project for new portfolio

I’d better get to it! :)

Maui sounds amazing! How fab.

I find these reflection threads so helpful. My good: Ive dealt with an issue here instead of taking it to SO (my own jealousy issue, not his problem).

I baked a cake for his major work meeting and put his company logo in icing on the top and it apparently was delicious but better than that, it's going in his companys new brochure as his MD was really chuffed with the cake logo. OH said he was very proud and said he loves how I support his career and that some of the men said they wished their wives would bake. I felt really pleased to be boosting his status at work.

We had a lovely valentines.

Ive handled money issues positively (this is an ongoing theme for me and it's getting better each week)

The bad: we have had 2 arguments which is extremely unusual. One of which was miscommunication and 50/50 fault and the other was 100% me being over sensitive. The upside is I apologised properly very soon after and he said he really appreciates how I can admit to being wrong. Thats definitely something Ive got from this sub!!

The ugly: our arguments were ugly. I will cringe thinking about them for weeks.

The Good: I had a wonderful v-day weekend. It was kind of overwhelming in a good way :) I feel uncomfortable detailing it out though, seems like I'm bragging. Probably because of [see below]

The bad-ish I've noticed that people, well mostly women, start to act weird and defensive when you gush about boyfriend things so it's making me really hesitant to talk about the things that bf does for me. Even amongst closer girl friends, they will tend to cut me off before I'm done with my story or change the subject to something more about them. I've also noticed some weird posts on facebook that come across as defensive to me: "It's not about how many flowers you get, it's about how many years you've been together" with a picture of the 3 roses they got, right after they saw the flowers I got. Just small stuff like that that just make me feel like other women really don't want to hear about how happy I am. It's kind of sad, and makes me feel a bit lonely because I don't have people I can fully share this kind of stuff with.

I'm also having trouble feeling like I can relate and converse with bf's family as well as I'd like. I usually like talking about intellectual things, recent science discoveries, books we're reading, art shows, new music, nerdy stuff. Bf's family is very blue-collar, don't really talk about that kind of stuff at all, can be kinda loud, and his sister and fiance have a very blue-pill relationship that makes me cringe especially when she yells at him.. just not what I am used to or feel super comfortable around. I never know what to say there. I'm also a fairly shy person so that doesn't help, haha. They are kind to me, and they are good people. I'm just trying to figure this out. Bf is close with his family so I really want to get along well with them.

Good

I was vulnerable with my SO about some family issues I'd been guarded about. It took a lot out of me to do it but I figured if this man is to be in my life he should know and he appreciated me opening up to him. He said he was wondering if I'd had any family stuff going on cause I'm usually really happy happy joy joy. Lol. Valentines day was a dream. We went shopping for pots, pans, knives, and a hand mixer hahaha. We just spent the day together doing regular things. Then he surprised me with a bracelet. It was a small gift but oh. so. Perfect.

The bad

Diet went to hell. Still swearing up a storm but my SO said I sound stupid when I try to not swear so he told me to give that up. My Lent resolution to giving up the word 'no'. I want to see where life takes me when I remove all of the road blocks and so far I've tried new places to eat, volunteered to be chair of my aa home group, and am taking tomorrow off to be with my SO's kid. It's been a great experience and I'm loving the power of positivity in my life. It's had a great effect (affect?) On the people around me.

The ugly

My roommie is moving out and I've been frustrated ab trying to find someone new. I've said mean things about the people who have come to see the place and I don't wanna be THAT girl. I need to focus on the positive and realize that just because someone isn't a good fit doesn't make them a bad person. It just means that there is someone else out there who will complement the lifestyle in the house.

Goals

Work on diet. Work on saying yes. Work on not badmouthing people. Work on getting hair done more consistently. Ponytails is just lazy.

Good: I have been following the beginner's guide to a cleaning schedule (Thanks poorsay for taking the time to share it) and my house is the cleanest its been in a long time! Also I have taken on an internship and I love it.

Bad: This internship is on a voluntary basis, but I am feeling pressure to devote more time than I had anticipated. It feels good to be able to use my talents where they are needed and appreciated. However, I need to be be mindful of the fact that I retired from my career to spend more time with my husband. It is hard for me to say no. I must not put in too much time at this or he will start to resent it. Right now he is happy for me and supportive.

Ugly: Me on a couple of mornings after a days without any sunshine.

I have been a lurker who will post something once in a blue moon. This is a somewhat new account I will be using specifically for RPW! (Yay for internet safety!)

The Good

I finished and submitted my application for Dietetic Internship matching. I left it for last minute (oops) but I'm satisfied with everything!
I lost a pound this week!
I tackled 2 out of 4 areas that need cleaning in my living space.

The Bad

I ate two whole pizzas this week. I still lost weight, but this is an expensive and unhealthy habit (I get gluten free crusts and those are pricey).
I didn't get to study for my other classes and am just now getting started on a homework assignment due tomorrow.

The Ugly

I barely exercised this week! I need to start doing sprints and lifting again. I also need to start eating clean because this acne issue is not going to resolve itself if I keep eating cheese and carbs.
I feel like time is running out (I'm single) - I need to get myself in tip top shape ASAP!

Good:
* I'm teaching my first college class and it's going really well. I love my students, the vibe in the classroom is warm, and teaching is bringing out a nurturing, more grown-up and self-confident version of myself
* Tried 3 new recipes since Friday (all yummy!), and made cookies for the department (made these and they got rave reviews!)

The bad and ugly:
* Haven't exercised in two weeks. Need to aim for 3x a week!
* I've been drinking more than usual. Last night I realized that twice in the past two weeks I've gotten aggressive with my female friends/family members after drinking.... soo unattractive. Time to scale back.

Bad: sister in law was visiting for the weekend and baby had stomach flu earlier in the week. I got it day before she arrived but had to basically get over it because husband came down with it Friday afternoon. So I took SIL and baby out and all over town Saturday to give husband a break and I was feeling a tiny bit resentful that he got all this time to recover and I got like a 3 hour break from the baby Thursday evening and that's it. Then SIL caught it Saturday night so my Valentine's consisted of taking care of her and everyone else.

Good: I was (temporarily) able to overcome my feelings of resentment towards my husband my reminding myself that he would be up and helping if he were able.

Ugly: I feel bad and sad and disappointed about the whole weekend. It was meant to be fun and it was a tremendous amount of work and effort and I feel underappreciated. I know it's not his fault he got sick and I'm sure he would have gotten me flowers if he'd been able to. He's said he owes me flowers, but that doesn't feel good either. I don't want him to get me something because it's his duty. I want him to want to and I'm just having a hard time letting it all go. It's festering in a really unpleasant way. Blah.

The better: The last update was an ugly one, and we are still dealing with some fall out of my bitchiness two weeks ago. I can still tell that he is withdrawn and I am trying hard to STFU more. There was one day that started to go off rails and I caught myself. The hard part he is a fixer and if there is a problem he wants to talk about it right then and figure it out and fix it. I realized I was going off the deep end and I was being irrational but when I try to shut down to stop it, he feels the need to push harder to get me to talk to him because he knows something is wrong and he wants to fix it. I should probably figure out something I can say that will properly explain to him that I am overreacting and I don't want to be and some time alone will wash it away.

The good: He has taken over some of the finances, but it looks like in the long term we are going to be partners on it rather than him taking it over all the way. We have been keeping receipts and plugging them in each week. We have found some places that more money is being spent than should (eating out/groceries) and some places we need to budget better (clothing/home/lawn). It is a great feeling being a team with him on this than me figuring it out on my own.

The bad: personal care is still up and down. I have been trying to eat better which has been hard, but yesterday I did great and did not eat any of the bad food at my nieces birthday party. Finding the right time to exercise is hard too. I am having a hard time to find a time that I can do so routinely and keep to it.

Ahh, Maui sounds way better than Iowa right now! Lucky you!

The Good: We had an awesome weekend - we went to our annual hockey game with friends and stayed in a nice hotel afterward. Went to brunch with friends the next morning, then came home and napped most of the day (one of us overdid it on Friday night, I won't say who). Spent all of Sunday at home stoking the woodstove while it snowed, I got the house to 86F while he watched basketball - new personal record! I have been working on eliminating negative comments lately (I don't know why I make them - I'm a positive person, I just have this bizarre habit) and have done an awesome job keeping them out of my mouth for the past week. Shockingly enough (that was sarcasm) the mood around our house has noticeably improved greatly! Which in turn, makes it even easier to only say positive things. Funny how that happens.

The Bad/Ugly: You guessed it, I was the one who overdid it on Friday night. I didn't do anything awful or say anything I shouldn't have, but I feel guilty about wasting the majority of my Saturday sleeping off stupidity. I am recovering from a drinking habit quite nicely, and the further I get into learning my boundaries, the more I realize just how much time I have wasted in my life recovering all because I wanted to get drunk.

Plans moving forward: Continue to be mindful about my eating and drinking habits, continue to keep the negative words out of my mouth, and keep making the changes I've been making. I'm doing really well with my fitness goals, I am feeling confident I'll be where I want to be before summer!

There's been a lot of bad and ugly lately, and some good, I'm trying to focus on the good, but the bad and ugly are just getting to be all consuming and I'm wondering if I'm really where I should be anymore in life in many areas. I keep trying though. Just keep swimming.

I got sent an article today too that seems to nearly perfectly describe my SO. It's not from a great source, but yet, it's literally a lot of what I'm going through lately and struggling with from him. And I can't understand how he can't see, with everything, that I'm not the girl that hurt him, so why am I being treated so poorly? He's pushing me away hard to my breaking point, once again with him. Just sadness, and a really horrible weekend together. I don't know anymore.

Good: I had a lovely Valentine's Day weekend with my bf. He's such a great man and so open and honest and emotionally available and supportive -- in a man way. It really helps me put my guard down and be vulnerable with him in ways i'm not used to but I really enjoy.

Bad: Made a pretty hasty mistake at work on Friday. I called my boss to inform her of the mistake. She wasn't pleased but we made a plan and I hope to correct my mistake first thing on Tuesday.

Ugly: Learned something terrible this past weekend and in self-preservation mode. I am this close to activating INTJ doorslam and not looking back for my own well-being, but I'm not there yet. I'm just not talking to the person.

Goals for this Week:

Back to cardio and paleo: I just fell off the wagon a bit. I made excellent progress last week but Valentine's Day threw me off! I had tons of carbs. I refuse to even weigh myself haha! I'll weigh myself on Friday and hope I'm still 120 lbs or lower.
Get a keratin treatment! I hear really good things and I'd to retain my straight hair without getting a relaxer.
Journal: I have so much in my head right now, I need to word vomit, but given the nature of my thoughts and the situations creating them, it may be best to put pen to paper vs telling someone else. For now.
Bible Study: I need the Lord's Word right now, more than ever. I need that spiritual fortitude to empower myself to overcome the challenges getting in the way of my inner peace.

My good: I have felt very good around him, and he has felt good around me. He told me that he loves me on Valentine's day. The bad: I got upset when I wanted to meet up with my friend in China Town after we hung out with his group of friends in the area, but it didn't work out because he took us on the bus and I didn't have time to rearrange. Then he said I just become quiet when i get upset and it confuses him. I need to work on being more verbal when upset.

The good: Less than 2 weeks now until we move into our new place! Most of the planning has been passed onto me as Mr is in the middle of a busy season at work (poor planning on our part I know). I feel I'm doing quite well with this and have made up a file with all the info so he doesn't have to chase me down if he wants to know anything or change any plans I've made. I'm super excited to have more space and glad we will finally have enough space for him to have a mancave :D

The bad: I was stressed over money at the beginning of the week trying to predict all of those little expences that come with moving. Thankfully I put a plan in place and mellowed out without having to take Mr away from focousing on work.

The not so ugly anymore: I found some time to do a facial and fix my eyebrows. I kept doing quick fixes on my eyebrows so they had started to lose their shape. I hadn't realised how much this was effecting my self image until I'd reshaped them.

Plan for the week: I want to make sure to set aside some time every day to do something for my man. I think this will halp a lot to make sure we aren't forgetting about eachother even if we are both busy. Also I plan to finalise a few things this week so I don't end up stressing myself out later.

Good:

Ooh, last week was quite a good one! I had a chance to see a gig from a band I really like and to socialize with my old university buddies. This was the first time I really tried to put my femininity on in a social situation and I enjoyed it very much. I also surprised my SO with a full make-up one day and cookies another day. He was very pleased. The Valentine's we skipped since where we're from it's more of a "friends' day" but on that day he did state that he loves his life at the moment. Made me feel warm inside!

Also visited some relatives in the weekend, which was extremely nice! I've been pretty impatient with my siblings' children in the past and now managed to be more tolerant of their noise and fuzz.

Bad:

I had anxiety over the quantity of sex dropping a bit in the last few weeks, emphasized due to ovulation related hardcore horniness. However, I managed to exert the magnificent practice of STFU and did not blurt my feelings to SO. Instead, when I had the chance I looked for topics related to my problem here on the subreddit and reading them really calmed me down. I understand now that I just need to be patient, omit any pressuring and just give him time. He's been quite busy lately.

Ugly:

Spotting has increased slightly, but otherwise nothing here! Exercise-wize last week was quite good, I attended both my weekly lessons (aerial yoga and ballet) and also lifted weights, did some yoga and took walks. I (an ex-hardcore-partier) am really enjoying my active, healthy lifestyle! The best part is how much I learn about my own body each time I move!

Goals for this week:

Kick ass in a job interview, remember to STFU about sex, exercise vigorously.

Good: I started a girl blog and I'm working hard to find some freelance jobs to make an extra bucks.

Bad: I'm pretty sure my casual smoking turned into an habit, my diet is off track and I'm doing poorly at work.

Ugly: I've been a bad girlfriend. I can't STFU most of the time. Some improvement but it's minimal. I'm having some problems dealing with SO and it's not pretty.

A little late to this thread, but I still want to reflect, darnit!

Valentine's Day was such a perfect, wonderful day! We walked the dog to get yummy coffees and I made low-carb biscuits and gravy which is one of his favorite things that I make. We went canoeing in the nearby bayou which is something I loathe, but I ended up enjoying myself and it was a great arm workout!

Then I got all dolled up in my Nanette Lepore minidress that I've had for 5 years and haven't been able to squeeze in to. We went downtown and bought fancy lingerie, and then met up with some friends for drinks. Then we had a luxurious seafood dinner with champagne. Went home and modeled the new lingerie. ;) All in all a great day!

Last night I went out with a girlfriend and had a couple whiskeys and talked wedding planning since we are both engaged and planning weddings. I mentioned off-hand that I'm having my bachelorette party as a camping trip in my home state and she wants to come! I'm super excited. I didn't think any of my local friends would want to make the trip. Now I'm going to mention it to a couple of other friends. It would be so great to merge my high school buddies and my local crew for a weekend of hiking, wine and wandering around the desert!

The Bad

For some reason I have been a carb-craving monster this week. I had an important meeting on Thursday and afterwards (it went well!) I stuffed my face with more bread than I've probably eaten in the past year. I feel like I'm gaining and losing the same 2 pounds over and over and over. I told myself I cannot buy any new clothes or shoes until I hit 120 and it seems like I never will! Today is a new day and I'm going to slay it. I'm going to attempt a 7 mile run which would be a personal best, and then make a delicious salad for lunch and go get a mani/pedi.

The Ugly

I've really been beating myself up about aforementioned carb binge. I went on a super self-flagellating run that evening and I was almost in tears. I know my fiance doesn't want to deal with a partner who gets suicidal every time she eats a darn scone. I need to figure this aspect of my personality out.

The ugly: In order to get through exams I started taking again nootropics, so called smart drugs. They have side effects. I'm going to reconsider my school priorities and maybe even drop less important class to be able to handle school without help of artificial stimulants.

The good: A few months ago I volunteered to tutor my SO's younger brother. As a result his marks noticeably improved. Last week when I was at my SO's parents house I got a hug and a warm "thank you" from his mom.

The great: For Valentine's day I got a set of high end winter tires and a "I want my future wife to be safe". Our wedding is in August and needless to say I'm looking forward to be the best wife for him :)

Good: My fiance and I checked out the wedding venue we both want yesterday! My parents met us there. We all really liked it - it's perfect for what we want and fits our style. He doesn't want to deal with the details so I'm happy to have my mom to help out and bounce ideas off of.

Bad/Ugly: I'm still a little emotional and sensitive lately. I try to just hold it in, but he can read my faces so well that he always knows when something is bothering me, even if I know I'm being silly and wouldn't have said anything.
