There's definitely a power imbalance in their relationship as far as OP is concerned. But if Lance is fine with the way his wife is dressed that has nothing to do with OP. She is very nosy and has no business in their marriage

So I REALLY don't like how OP insinuates that she knows Lances's personality better than his own WIFE. Super inappropriate. And I'm sorry but it does come across like she thinks he's this super deep guy and her sister isn't good enough for him, which is WEIRD at best and jealous at worst.

But all the posts on that sub are fake af anyways so I'm going to go with this never happened.

I think the older sister was way out of line and is projecting her own insecurities. How does she know if her sister's husband doesn't like the way she dresses? The truth is, she doesn't.

She sounds jealous and catty to me, and that really isn't a good look.

That's his nature. /shrugs I usually date introverted girls, but when I date an extroverted girl I find myself saying, "When you think it is too quiet, I think it is just barely quiet enough."

This makes me think he is an introvert as this is EXACTLY what an introvert buddy of mine would do. Basically, she repeated whatever you told her to him and he viewed this as "creating drama" for him and therefore asked you to not have opinions.

Basically, I'd leave it alone. If the two of them are happy, and he's not on drugs or smacking her around (in a non-consensual way) then let them be happy and MYOB.

OP just sounds super jealous. I really just see this as OPs issue. If the husband doesn’t care then why should OP care so much? I hate how she’s thinks her sister being outgoing/loud is a bad thing many men do love that

This reminds me of an incident that my father would tell about my uncle. My Dad's family grew up Amish and still had a lot of Amish family at the time of this incident. My uncle, who left the faith, would have his non-Amish wife dress as slutty as humanly possible when they were at family functions. He saw it as an accomplishment because "even the Amish married men couldn't resist taking a look."

Of course he has since divorced her (she was completely psycho) and married a more traditional woman who gets along much better with the Amish family. He's also not nearly as snooty around them, either.

Sounds like Lance is just a quiet type and attracted to his wife's personality. Opposites can attract. If he's not complaining then I don't see a problem. I've dressed the same way before but it was for my husband's eyes. If the friends stared then it was a them problem. It's not like people could tell what color my panties were. Around my family I would dress more modest but that's me. I don't think it's the matter of the husband taking her seriously. I think he does. He just doesn't voice much in public it seems. Nothing wrong with that.

She admits that Lance is naturally stoic and quiet and when her sis asks why he seems quiet, instead of saying that’s his personality, OP goes to the jugular and shames her sisters clothing.

Truth is you get judged by company you keep.

Imagine a woman dressed up to the nines, makeup excessively done, expensive cocktail dress and her man comes dressed sloppy as fuck.

Or imagine a man who lifts and is dressed in a nice T shirt, leather jacket, slim jeans and boots whilst his girlfriend is fat, and dressed in baggy androgynous clothes and looks like she just woke up.

You get judged by the company you keep.

Everyone at the party thinks this woman is a hoe and the guy a beta who can’t stand up for himself.

They just won’t say it.

Unfortunately signing a marriage license doesn’t make a woman wife material. She isn’t going to magically transform into a wife. He signed up for this so this is his issue now. I think you just have to watch and learn from their marriage.

I think if women don't want certain kinds of attention they should dress modestly. I think it's inappropriate for a 26 year old married woman to be showing her body to lots of men. Saying that it's not really her sister's business and it's between the sister and the husband.

What do you guys think?
