SUMMARY: Harassment Training at work harasses white males.

I work at a large government-based company in the SW United States. 11,000 employees, more than a dozen races and both genders. We are required to take Harassment training, an online training module. The module consists of live-acted scenarios of persons harassing other persons at work, and illustrates what to do and what not to do if verbally, physically, or sexually harassed.

Guess which type of actor portrays the perpetrator in each and every video?

A white male. The videos have persons of a variety of races/genders playing various roles, but the perpetrator is a young or old white male in each and every case. 7 perpetrators, and all 7 are white males.

I sent an email to our HR Director voicing my concern at this bigotry, and got a response. He said, "I don't see what you're talking about." I cited seven out of seven white male perpetrators in all five videos, no other perpetrators of another gender or race, and he said, "I don't know what you're talking about." No greeting or salutation by the way, just a one-line response. He is not Caucasian, by the way.

I have a great job and don't feel any racial impacts from my coworkers, but still, I am appalled and amazed that the company is getting away with their bigotry in this training.
