How serious do you think OP is when saying this? Hint: the OMG and the "totally" is the giveaway, he's teasing her, he's not telling her he's gonna dump her, this is all play, that should be obvious.

So OP played the dread card, now she has two options, she could either submit to his frame or reject it.

She rejected it because she wanted to test him some more, she could easily have fired back and poked at his smv "yeah good luck with that" or "you're lucky you even have one" BUT she wouldn't go there because she knows his smv is high, also what would that say about her, would she be in a relationship with a low smv guy? Hell no, that's why she didn't go there, and it's a good sign that she didn't.

So she gave him the tears, and it's justified in her mind, he's talking about dumping me omg time to cry. This is of course just another test, if he had caved and started apologizing and taking back what he said, she would have won, and she would deeply resent him for it.

So OP stood his ground, and won in the end.

the interesting thing about this dialogue is that the actual words being spoken are meaningless. This is all about holding frame, body language, emotional self-control etc. This dialogue could have happened in any language, in any culture.

I've started keeping track of my girl's periods.

Usually about a week after she ends her period she'll start heavily shit-testing like this example (the emotional rollercoasters), and I know I need to up my game and be even more on-point with regards to holding frame.

I was told, "I hate you" this week, in a similar situation. Not even 5 minutes later she was stripping off her clothes in my bedroom and we were fucking like rabbits.

Ever since my girlfriend and I were in the car and that stupid rap song said "girls only say 'I hate you' to the guys that they love" and I told her that's her, I quote that same line EVERY SINGLE TIME she says I hate you.... no matter how angry or upset she is. TRP needs more like them to get to black-belt red pill shit. It's interesting how controversial and divided it is, and it's an opportunity for us to see the nuance between maintaining frame, or running good dread, and being an abusive twat.

It is not "sjw," "beta," or "white knight" to say OP is a fucking buffoon. Escalating to "gonna find a new girlfriend," after setting the trap with a feather-preening self-compliment, it's just toying with her. This is literally shit I did when I was 14 with my first serious gf, it was just a way to hurt her, and she would do it back to me, and came mostly out of a combination of boredom and curiosity ("wow, I have this person whose emotions are totally latched to me, I have this power, I wonder what would happen if..."). It is sick and unproductive.

Beyond all of that, good dread is not saying you're gonna leave her, it is demonstrating your capability to leave her while maintaining plausible deniability.

Also, from a long-term strategy perspective (even for those who disagree with my interpretation), escalation like this over nothing just took an arrow out of OP's quiver, or more accurately the nuke from his arsenal -- there's no lever beyond "gonna leave you" other than physical violence. It's like calling your gf a cunt for leaving the light on in the other room.

Edit: In case it's not clear, the "I hate you" is said playfully, with faux scorn and a smirk she can't hide. She's verbally saying "I hate you" but what she really means is "I hate that I love the way you don't fall for my shit and I love you for it".
