Haven't been on here a long time, I guess that's a sign of my progress. This isn't a weekly improvement post, rather a yearly one .

I found this sub a year ago as a fat, friendless, socially isolated virgin with social anxiety and depression. I decided to make a life change going into senior year of high school.

Today, I'm in the best shape of my life, successful with women, the leader of an amazing friend group and am expanding my social circle, literally, on the daily. I've never been this confident. I've never been this attractive. I've never been this in control. I'm going into college next year at the perfect time. I can honestly say that these last couple of months have been the best of my life, easily.

For those reading this that may be at different stages in their journey: don't get discouraged. For months, I saw little progress anywhere except the weight room. That friend group I mentioned? I didn't even know them 6 months ago and I've gone to school with some of these kids for 6 years. That success with women I mentioned? Only happened recently. Results in a conquest to reclaim your life come slowly. Getting discouraged is inevitable.

But always remember this: you cannot control a great many things in life, but what you can control is your attitude and perspective. I can't tell you how many events or parties or even simple hangouts I've felt nervous or unsure of going to that ended up being incredibly memorable nights. Always approach new things with an open attitude. Your perspective is also one of the most important things in life. It's the reason there are miserable millionaires and content crackheads.

First time im posting here, I am not sure when did I find this place (probably around 3 months ago) and my life has been going in a radically good direction.

Lost 60 pounds, started working on my smv, started slaying my demons and doing my work, practically quit video games, no procrastination, exploring new hobbies, communicating better and more efficiently and honestly just being at a higher emotional level overall.

To cover this week, I've realised that I have issues with opening (just need to get over my fear and do it until it's second nature, I know), and I have an issue with being sexual with new women; trying to look for directions to go with it, advice is always welcome.

How I've Improved:

Got a part-time job making $15.50 / hr
Have been to the gym every day of the last week
Have two separate dates lined up, although it was through tinder (just to keep my skills sharp, no attachment to outcome).

How I need to Improve

I've been procrastinating on organizing my laptop and updating my portfolio so I can job search for my desired career positions in Industrial Design.
I need to work on getting up and going to bed at a consistent time, and getting a routine established.
I need to make a budget and get my finances in order.
First thing's first, establish a routine. Making it a habit is the hard part. Pussy tends to keep me away from a solid routine, so maybe I need to bite the bullet and focus less on improving game and more on improving substance.

I am in the middle of an overhaul. I have curtailed many activities, to focus on areas where I have advantages. I signed up for stochastic processes and strength & stretch up at my local university. This has prompted me to start reviewing prob & stats, this time in both R and Excel (rather than Minitab, yuk). It's been great to reengage with the material I sacrificed so much for. Also, I get to pay student loans interest free while getting work to pay for the math class.

I rearranged things to work out first thing in the morning. Alternate run/lift, 6 days a week. I'm in my mid 40's. Getting jacked and putting up a shirtless selfie on Tinder will not get me laid. I just need to pass a certain threshold, lay on some muscle, which I'm well positioned to do. I'm in good shape already. Judo & dancing are out....hiking/climbing/backpacking are awesome, and I can do these things with women I meet (makes a good screen, too.....no fatties, and no women over 30. I have standards).

I work remotely, and today my travel kit arrives....a second screen, folding keyboard, and lightweight mouse. I will no longer work from home. I need to reclaim my home for the sanctuary it should be. I went to the campus recently, and was shocked at the IOI's I was getting. I will focus there entirely. There are plenty of places to set up and work, and I expect productivity to go up because leaving the house to work sets up the right mindset.

I've been impeccable with grooming but lazy about fashion. This is a consequence of working from home. I need to solve this before the semester starts. Fortunately I need to gain, not lose, weight, so I can work on the problem without fear of clothes not fitting. A suit would be as stupid as t-shirts & jeans....I need to go sharp as hell business casual.

And I hit up a buddy in the comic circuit. I'm going to start going to shows etc. I'm not suggesting I'm funny enough to get up there myself, but I was struck with the realization that I need to get in front of people as often as I can in any way that I can.

Because I talked myself totally out of even trying online dating. According to OK Cupid, men rate women symmetrically....as many 1's as 5's, 2's as 4's, and mostly 3's. To women, 80% of men are 3 & below. Fuck that noise.

I talked my last girlfriend into visiting this summer. Yes another guy has been railing her out, but they broke up and she's pretty careful with her n-count, which I'll take full advantage of. I need to fuck a younger woman, since I fucked a woman my age in the past year and it was a confidence destroyer. She's 20 years younger than me, just what the doctor ordered.

And I fired up my subscription to the print edition of the Economist. I play an intellectual game. I have strayed too far from it. I'm in good shape....I need to build off of it, but I'll never be that jacked Alpha male tingle generator. Instead, I need to make sure I'm not disqualified....being in really good shape at my age is an indicator of good genes, but it's the mental games that's going to land me some plates.

Haven’t done one last week, so I will cover both weeks.

Proud of myself for sticking to my 6-day gym routine for 5 weeks+ now. Used to skip at least 1-2 sessions but have now disciplined myself and it’s working. Doesn’t feel like an achievement, just a nice addition to self-improvement. Started reading The Rational Male, picked up a few interesting concepts on the way but have only read 1/5th of the book so far. Aced a couple of tests in school with minimum revision and good study planning. Studying smart rather than overstudying does wonders.

Now to the negatives. Been experimenting with the bed time and how much I sleep. Every day, no matter how much I sleep, I feel tired when I come back home. I usually wake up 1-2 times during the night to go to the toilet, apart from that, I can’t see any reason behind my constant tiredness.

Damn… It feels it’s been much longer than that but 3 weeks ago I fucked up a date with a girl that I wanted to hook up with (check my history for the full story). I definitely got over the failed date, but I hate to admit that I still have feelings for that girl. I kept telling myself to never fall for anyone, and here I am, 3 weeks after, still feeling attraction. We still talk, she flirts, I flirt, she doesn’t bring up that night and neither do I, we act as if it never happened. I have other options and it’s not a problem for me, but the Beta that is still inside me tells my brain to not let go. At some random times, it hits me on an emotional level and it makes me motivated to keep working hard because it’s my life and I can achieve what I want and desire. That date was my fuck up, no one else is responsible except for me.

I started seriously lifting 6 months ago. Every single day. Drastic improvements have taken place. I'm 6'0 and weigh 175 lbs. This is the first week I've maxed out on bench to see where I'm at. I finally reached my goal of two plates (225 lbs)! Nowhere to go but up from here. 3 plates here I come.

Started off the week great, had a fresh new mindset and was ready to take on the world. Woke up earlier, went to the gym, and was hustling hard on my side businesses. Also began pushing away girls that just wanted me for attention or food.

However, received some pretty heavy news about my college career yesterday, so everything has kind of fallen off the rails since then. Big decisions to make soon, and it's internally killing me knowing this can affect my future.

Picked up The 33 Strategies of War; fascinating so far, and I definitely see how this serves as the Macro complement to the 48 laws of power.

After coasting in my career for a few years, started working on new certifications; first up is Certified Ethical Hacker, next is Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator.

Just finished my leaving cert exams this week so I can spend the next two months focusing on myself, having a strict schedule of working out, eating well, studying, reading books and getting sufficient sleep.

Anyway, I got a really nice haircut yesterday that completely changed how I look, and notably got a compliment from the cute cashier that probably hadn't noticed me all year. Fast forward to last night, I broke my year long dry spell by shifting 7 girls at a local club.

Been doing social things & pushing my comfort zone socially.
Got a lot more social things coming up as well. excited for it
Learning about drawing happiness from within instead of drawing from others.
Improved in skill hobbies. mainly chess (esp. Bullet this week). also some other small things like drumming and coding.
Worked out a lot. Feeling stronger again.
Vacation!

Bad not much really. I'm in a good place. but:

Probably not enough sleep. I have summer vacation now so I can sleep in though
Felt really left out of a conversation today when out with friends because they talked about things i know NOTHING about and they immediately switched away from my topics. I know I shouldn't focus on that.
Didn't eat optimally. not too bad but not very good either.

Plan (since vacation --> a lot of free time)

Going to invite friends to hang out and shit. probably catch some movies @ cinema
going to explore my city instead of being couped up in my house. for some reason i'm inspired to take pictures around the city(?).
Probably going to do some challenges to get me out my comfort zone socially. like talking to strangers. doing odd things in public and so on.

I'm at 140 lbs. I have maintained a daily eating schedule, stopping at 8pm and starting at noon. Every day I have been running/walking 3 miles in the morning. My goal is to be able to run them the whole way. My upper body strength is mediocre, after I run I immediately work biceps, with dumbbells, but I'm barely getting by with 25 lbs on each arm. When I get tired I immediately switch to a push-up machine, and push 55 lbs until I get tired and switch back to dumbbells.

I'm recovering from oneitis, despite being married with a child. I feel like shit. I am neglecting my studies (medical student, summer has me off schedule). This brief fast is killing my motivation.

It's my second day working at the school (program to help high school tends).

I'm bored of my wife but I am responsible for my situation. Don't really know what to do other than what I'm doing. This is where I'm failing. I guess I need better goals.

Pros:

Had one of the funnest dates I've been on in awhile yesterday. Last week I went out with someone else and she said it was the worst first date she has ever been on. I asked why and then applied what I learned to last night. Success!
Signed back up to flight school, excited to pursue my dream 100%!
Been powering through coding bootcamps and recently finished 2 more college courses. Bought a book on maintaining readable code and starting to implement its practices.

Cons:

I did not go to gym or swim laps the past 5 days. Need to manage time more effectively.
Had drug relapse. Watched friend get into crazy fight with his gf over it, have to really quit this shit for good.
Have not been social much. Need to add in an evening or two of it to balance my work. Miss my friends
Need to work on continuing momentum in my positive activities. Been doing much better though compared to years before

I did 3 days of body weight fitness. I cooked all meals at home saving a ton of money. I practiced the guitar 3 days. I meditated each day. I refrained from porn all week. I listened to a goal setting program by zig ziglar.

Seems like my part time job will get me a full-time offer. Been very social at work, and took one L with grace (will set a tone of 'its all good' when I see her next).

Been lifting for a month now.

Working on my standup act too, and buying a guitar soon.

Very gently invited a girl out for coffee whom I'd gelled with, her response: "if I'm not in a meeting sure haha".
Went to coffee place on my own anyway, and later replied "haha yeah no worries I went early, maybe later"

Gonna be absolutely normal, like this isn't a big deal, because it isn't, and even James Bond takes the L. So can I, and suavely.

Negatives:
When I get down on myself, I often have these really deep insecurities of whether underneath it all, I am just a creepy uncalibrated beta (despite the fact that I'm just a generally friendly person with the idea that everyone has something I can learn/experiences I haven't had) and that all this shit is pipe dreams that will crash and crash hard one day. Threads by incels/4channers freak me out (am I really just one of them?) and make me doubt my own reality a lot.

Any ideas on dealing with negativity, and how to maintain a strong frame vs your internal voice?

I just finished high school, so there's that :). But..., but I've been going to the gym for officially just over a month, which in my opinion is a good achievement. I also started looking after my diet and I've been hitting the core fundamentals for muscle growth (caloric surplus, correct amount of protein, etc...).

Started looking after my body language too. I walk with my chest out more, and I keep my head up a lot. I used to always walk with my head down the whole time which made me seem like a depressed loser.

I also started working on my new business idea which even though I don't know for 100% sure if it'll even generate any profit, it keeps me working and being active instead of being passive and watching anime or something so I'm developing grit and character.

Your boy here finally quit smoking. Woke up one day and decided I hated the feeling my body experienced after a smoke. I hated the fact that my breath stinks when I approach women when I smoke. And i fucking hated that this was the only way I could deal with my anxiety as opposed to confronting the issue or meditating about my feelings. Boys, If I can do it, so can you. Hell yeah! I started treating my time at the gym as meetings. I had a breakfast scheduled with some people today before the gym. They didn't show up in time. When they said we should meet somewhere else because of traffic, I said I didn't have time, I had an important meeting I could not skip. That meeting was with ME AND MY FITNESS GOALS!

Finally gained my weight and muscle mass back after a month of strange GI issues back in early spring. Career wise, I managed to land a big contract with a local company, also I applied for a position at my city's university for a TA job. As for dating, its really low priority right now - got 2 younger plates, its fine. An other one proposed to leave his boyfriend for me (i dont plate girls in relationships, not worth the drama), but i denied the offer. Everything is great in summary. For the next two monts, I applied for two summer programming courses - I hope it will be worthwhile. Also, I am translating my published papers to english and french, so I might reach a wider audience.

Its saturday here in New Zealand. And its been about a week and a half since I found TRP. Although I knew a lot of this stuff from reading The Venusian Arts and following RSD Nation, Studying PUA etc. Theres something different about TRP. The community seems to be alive with like-minded people who have similar backstories to me. And hearing all these different peoples stories motivates me to get mine.

Now onto weekly progress- Started up at gym this week and been 2 weeks nofap. Since I stopped masturbating I find myself feeling less creepy but more horny. Improvements: I've gone from 0 to 2 plates this week. Moving into management positions at work, at first I was slipping, but studying management books and now getting a lot of praise.

Steps: Back to work forming my lifting habit. 1/7 days is not great, but better than the 0/7.

Failures: 1/2 plates is starting to be less responsive because I wasn't ready to have sex during night one (beta ugh).

I'am currently struggling with my break up. We were together for 4 years and I am sadly seeing no signs of moving on or improving. Work is good in itself but my confidence is dropping. I don't feel motivated anymore and the friends I have, have no experience in dating so they can't relate to me.

Worked out all 7 days of the week. Insanity (a.m.) + Body Beast (p.m.). Created some good content for my sub. Gave 3 lectures at my college as an alumnus. Made considerable progress in edifying myself post-college.

I've made what I consider to be huge improvements this week/month so posting in here first time.

Made a decision about how to proceed with my life business wise, and pushed through on a key acquisition of equipment

Stopped smoking marijuana cold turkey from 1-2 grams per day to nothing, despite housemates still stinking up the place

Cut soft drinks out of my diet except for at restaurants (previously almost every beverage was a non diet soda)

Eating a lot healthier snacks (fruit, hummus, etc instead of straight up candy)

Feeling good, feeling right, got some more goals in sight

WIPT 6/26/17

Getting stressed about school. Gotta get serious. Trying to make sure it doesn't cut into bjj, or the working out i will hopefully be engaged in as soon as i figure out my membership, hopefully tomorrow.

Fitness Still going strong with bjj

Found another gym to start a membership at on a temporary basis(hopefully) until I can get in at the nice one at a discounted price. This new gym at least has a power rack but very limited weights so I will have to find the non-peak hours and go during them.

Still haven't gotten ahold of Becoming a Supple Leopard, gonna order it on amazon i guess. going to need it to do prehab work and mobility stuff.

Reading I wanted to make a list of books I want to read like some people have been doing and cross them out when i finish them, and say which are on progress.

Update - thanks to everyone's input. I am now in a better mental state. I have stopped searching for her in every girl and have started accepting women for how and who they are. To get a clear picture of the women I go out with, I have stopped playing games and also have stopped my attempts to extract information about their past. I let them reveal how much they want. Now that my mental peace is coming back slowly. I shall start looking after my physical well being and try to excel at my work too. Thanks a lot folks !
