This should have been a rant, but after swallowing TRP I just laughed out loud when I saw this. Take a look at the link, then read the rest of the post -

I was at the mall Saturday with my wife. We passed by the "Lane Bryant" store and observed a huge collage in the window full of black and white photos of heavy women in lingerie. In huge bold letters was the phrase "Redefining sexy". While walking by, I glanced, slowed, read, then resumed my pace while laughing out loud. My wife asked what was so funny so I pointed to the window.

...Digression

Now would be a good time to mention that my wife is still overweight. Since I began improving my life in TRP ways, she too started to improve herself (Dread, anyone?). Anyway, she dropped 50 lbs since last September and has another 40 to go.

... Back to the story...

She was not amused by my laughter, and asked what was wrong with lingerie for all sizes (keep in mind she has some outfits too).

I replied that if LB can make a business out of selling lacy undergarments to heavy women, more power to them; I don't have an issue or find it funny. What I DO find funny is that they try to Redefine Sexy. I went on to say that sexy is defined by the person being attracted, not the person wearing the clothes. Ergo, if MEN (or lesbians if that is the way you swing), find heavy people in lingerie sexy then it is. Otherwise it is another attempt for women to instruct men regarding what men should find sexy.

She was still a bit bothered until I flipped the script -

"So imagine the same poster, same message... only this time it is a bunch of fat men in speedos"

"Now imagine that society as a whole insists that you not only see that as you walk through a mall, but that YOU MUST ALSO ACCEPT that redefinition of what a woman thinks is sexy" She immediately busted up laughing at the thought of that.

For the record, I let my wife know that the more she sheds her weight, the more attracted I am to her. She knows without a doubt that she is "Sexier" now than a year ago. She also knows that by the time our last child is off to college we stay together based on the merits of our relationship. Her physical appearance is part of those merits.
