Part of the "women don't need a man" trope can be more adequately described as "women are becoming less desirable for marriage." It's a psychological flipping of the script.

It's the same as when a boss says you are not going to be hired. Your response is "Well, I don't need that job anyway." You frame your rejection as their rejection.

I've just finished the first part. It's brilliant so far. If these are too long for you, try increasing the playback speed to 1.25 or 1.5. It's not much harder to follow at those speeds.

EDIT:

For those who haven't watched, the first part is more focused on the economic impact of the population decline, where as the second part is focused on the causes of the decline, citing mostly the destruction of the family unit, cultural narcissism, individualism, and the sexual revolution.

It's a good video that really makes you think about the economic future. My first reaction was to think about every way to save money for old age, and not get into the real estate market. Although the US should be only marginally affected by the decline in real estate value.

As the number of retirees starts to out number the number of workers, end of life services will get extremely expensive. As there will only be a fraction of workers paying into social security as there are people withdrawing from it. In my eyes you have two ways to combat this. Save as much money as possible and prepare for the future economy, or have a large family that will be able to support you through the end of your life.

The childless part i find bull.

It's the fatherless. Women will ride the CC and spawn kids from them. The men will pay support or single men will pay the Bachelor Tax to support these women and eventually 3 kids from 3 dads she'll land some beta sucker who's lonely into marriage.

Marriage rates will decline because men will get smarter but that just means women will game the system through child support or common law marriages from ltrs.

You really ought to edit that post. The first part is entirely about what is going on, and where it's taking us. It's all statistical analysis. It's the second part that has all the RP stuff in it.

That said, I like documentaries and crap, so it's all good for me.

-I found it very interesting that Mexico is having a birth decline. Who knew? I wonder if that has any impact on politicians pushing for amnesty.

-I hadn't thought about the elderly dying off and/or selling off their homes causing another coming real estate decline. I'm seriously going to have to reconsider my future real estate plans. That alone was worth the watch.

-In part 2, near the beginning, I thought it was funny watching a couple of male commentators haltingly talking about women's issues, obviously taking pains not to say ANYTHING that might be taken the 'wrong way'.

-I had NO idea the pill could have caused soooooooo many things to happen down the line.

-I also noticed, that while they did talk about the "Women's Revolution" and the "Sexual Revolution" they carefully avoided using the F word. That had to be on purpose.

our fiat currency system depends on growth of populations and development of new raw resource plays, as it creates a self-sustaining debt that can never be paid. every US dollar is printed at interest, after all. this is ultimately unsustainable and plainly irresponsible when it comes to natural resources, since there's only so much space and non-renewable resources on Earth, particularly fresh water. don't forget that the need for population growth and production growth also drives the current mass extinction. a reduction in biodiversity is not a good thing.

in the long run, it would be wiser to return to a gold standard monetary system in order to maintain a steady population and production of raw resources instead of trying to make human populations and rates of production continually increase just to satisfy the requirements of the fiat monetary system.

however, i have no idea how this could be achieved. overhauling the global banking system is no small task.

Mark Steyn wrote a book about this years ago called, America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It . He pretty much outlined how modern civilization will collapse. It's a combination of declining birthrates in the developed world, high birth rates of the Muslim populations in the developed world, and the social welfare state. We're screwed and there's not much we can do about it except prepare.

Surprise surprise the fertility rate drop more or less corresponds to the explosion of Feminism in the 60's and 70's.

The Government if it is really worried about the tax base will simply make taxpayers. All they have to do is start paying women to be artificially inseminated if that really accelerated. Men really will be "useless", give your sperm for $ because you can't get a job, sperm is used by the Government to impregnate random CCriders who don't want the trouble of a baby daddy, commitments and responsibility. Children will be raised by the state, to labor for the state and obey the state.

This is why many western nations are trying to import immigrants who traditionally have higher birth rates, in a generation or two though those birth rates will drop as well.

It was more or less inevitable, however, which is why it's also more or less irreversible.

Due to technological changes, the world of work changed substantially in the second half of the 20th, and that change is still ongoing. It no longer made sense to exclude women from the world of work, and the greater world as well. As the economy moved away from hard labor towards either automated manufacturing or services, and as household chores likewise became more automated, it simply didn't make sense to have the "traditional" division of labor any longer. Once the economy started moving in this way, it was more or less inevitable that second wave feminism would happen -- it just made sense, given how technology had drastically changed both the world of work and the world of home. The fact that technology at around the same time drastically changed the world of sex as well (birth control, safe abortion) made the changes even more inevitable. It all fell together in a way that makes perfect sense, really.

In all, it's led to a great step forward, in terms of technology and prosperity. Yes, things are less "equal" than they were in the 1950s in terms of incomes, but almost everyone is, on an absolute (not relative) basis, better off in terms of lifestyle in 2015 than they were in 1955. In no small part this is due to the changes in the economy that took place beginning in the second half of the 20th and which are still ongoing.

As for population, the challenge in the years ahead is moving towards an economic model that works with a shrinking population, because a shrinking population is inevitable. The US will avoid biting the bullet for a while because of net immigration, but that's just moving people around -- birth rates are still going to be going down pretty much everywhere on the planet as the planet gets more prosperous overall and more middle class. The good news is that as automation continues to improve, we will need far less people to have a productive economy. The bad news is that transitioning to a smaller population, more highly automated society will be painful economically, particularly for those who are not in the right end of the Gaussian when it comes to intellect and skills. We should rise to the challenge, however -- a smarter, smaller, more technologically advanced, and more highly sexed population is not a bad thing in itself if we can pull it off properly and with as little collateral damage as possible.

It's true that one of the true losers in this story will be beta males. They're pretty much on the way out. We don't need as many of them even today (that's obvious), and in the not distant future we will need even fewer of them. The future belongs to smart and alpha men, and women. Beta males need to move up, or they will be joining the dustbin of history. As a red piller, I see no need to mourn this. The time of the beta has passed. Betas served the world well for a long time, but the world has changed a lot due to technology, and this change is both irreversible and continuing at a break-neck pace. It's surpassing the need for betas. What we will end up with, if we do it right, is a society with a very small number of betas, a larger number of smart and technically able alphas, and women. A smaller population overall, and a smarter one, and one that is either alpha male or female. As red pill men who are either alphas or working on becoming alphas, this is a good thing, not a bad thing.

Time points in one direction, and you can't go backwards. Lower population is the way of the future. The rules have changed due to technology, and we need to embrace the new rules and prosper under them.

Sorry, I couldn't watch the first video for more than seven minutes. The Stanford dude was pontificating about having five kids is the equivalent of robbing a bank of $5 million. For a while, this belief got some traction: the belief that having kids was selfish and kids should be thought of as needlessly draining natural resources from the Earth.

My take? All the "smart" white kids who go to Lefty colleges drank this stuff up, and decided not to have kids anymore. Meanwhile, do you think the poor and Indians or the Chinese or the Mexicans (at home and abroad) are considering the same thing?

Everyone thought Pat Buchanan was a retarded Nazi for predicting the Death of the West 20 years ago, but damn, I think the guy was right.

The planet is overpopulated anyways. The older generations could invest in the younger ones, but they don't and now are at risk of being left to die. Because the reality is, if everyone over 50 died, the rest of humanity would be better off. Especially with shrinking birth rates.

The older generations fucked up, we don't need them but for medicine. So keep those medicine providers alive, and let everyone over 50 perish naturally.

If you have kids, remember to do everything you can to always keep them thinking you are an asset to humanity. If you don't, don't be surprised when they let you die off. I have no need for older people to live, the sooner they die in massive numbers, the better off I am.
