You can still wear mostly the same style as you've had before, but understand how clothes are supposed to fit and you've done 80% of the job. Fit is king. And don't have t-shirts with print on them.

Boxer briefs all the way if you don't like boxers. I remember back in high school when I switched to boxers... took a while to get used to the jewels jumbling around but you will.

Swept collars are in for dress shirts. Get slim or athletic fit or have them tailored. I have to almost always get my jeans tailored to look right. For casual, I like untuckit shirts. They fit me well out of the box (large, slim fit) and they are designed to me worn untucked.

Shoes are king, especially to women. I got a pair of brown Stacy Adams dress shoes for Christmas. I picked them, not my wife. Never had so many compliments on clothing as I have had with these bad boys, ever. Shoes are king...

Underwear - I love Under Armour boxer jocks. 9 inch for lifting/gym (they stay put and won't ride up), 6 inch legs for everyday. If you have a nice ass and/or nice quads, these will show them off. Plus they don't bunch, so they won't look like a fuckj g mess in suit pants, and won't bother you in jeans.

As to the rest, better minds here will have some ideas. However, nice well-Fitting T-shirt, plain, no graphics, and jeans with good shoes can make you look dynamite. Hope you've been lifting.

Until you have enough sense to curate your own style, the safest bet today is to pick up a thick J Crew or Brooks Brothers catalog and mimic that.

these accounts opened my mind to how well guys can dress even with only jeans and a shirt. the driving home point is to find clothes that fit your body properly (and to be fit, which is what you should be doing anyways).

I've been dressing more like the guys from menwithstreetstyle and my SMV has increased substantially.

About how old are you?

As a baseline, you need to pick out:

Leather shoes
Dark jeans that aren't baggy
Shirts that don't billow
A haircut that complements your head / face shape

And no, don't take your wife shopping, especially the first time.

I never see much about wrist wear when this topic comes up.

I always wear a watch. Nothing outrageous, just invicta or Fossil. I choose watches based on how they look on my wrist not how much they cost. I get complimented often on my watches. Pair a nice looking watch with some nice looking shoes and as long as everything in between fits well and has some semblance of being put together purposefully you'll be money.

Lose all the baggy shit and ratty shoes. You lift (I assume). Show it off. If not, you have a new goal to work towards.

I use Stitch Fix. You indicate what your general style is and they send you fashionable clothes. I highly recommend because it circumnavigates the wife in this. It's a little pricy, but well worth it.

Malefashionadvice has some. Beware of the super tight outfits for stick figure guys. Or just Google image search 'male fashion spring 2017' or 'male fashion button down' or whatever style you're thinking of. Pick pictures that catch your eye, then go find similar at your local clothes store.

How old are you man? I know you must be too old for this shit. Face it, the world judges a man on his appearance. Get it together. How do you get a decent table in a restaurant? Get you some grown up clothes.
