What? Immerse yourself in pick-up for 30 days straight. No excuses

When? Well obviously you can do this on your own whenever you want, but for the group challenge registration lasts until Jan. 20th and will last until the 30th day obviously.

Participants and starting dates:

All right boys, I am a Harbringer of glory, and I am here to lead you from purgatory either to heaven or to your doom. Together, we can raise to the challenge.

Look, the number one reason that guys interested in improving don't get good is that they give up. The second reason is that they learn too slow, and they misjudge how much action is required to suceed. Then we are stuck in this nebulous state of wanting to get good at pick up but practicing very inconsistently. Consistency and discipline should be one of the first things you master. Afterwards, everything gets easier.

Like everything else in this life, getting good at pick-up comes down to one simple thing: Putting out the sets and reps. It doesn't matter if you are new and terrified of doing your first approach or if you are pretty advanced, committing yourself to taking massive action on a consistent basis will take your game to new levels.

What it is

Its pretty simple: You commit yourself to doing cold-approach pick-up for 30 days straight. That means that you will go out and open girls every day.

Why so simple? This is not meant to be a complex or whacky succession of challenges simply because I want it to appeal to everyone (those who are busy and those who are not, those who are frightened to do one approach and those who have one specific sticking point they need to address). If I say on day 5 you have to open with a hug on the street and on day 25 you have to get an insta-date during day game, that may be useful for some people whose specific sticking points is getting physical or scalating, but if your problem is something else then it would be pointless.

So the system is designed that you have to figure out for yourself how much you want to commit to. You just have to commit to it every day.

(If you still want to do a more guided challenge, maybe you could follow Style's Rules of the Game book, but doing opens even on the days that do not include opening on Style's book).

For me personally, I work and go to the gym so I have decided on the following: From monday to thursday I only have to open once. If I only do a 5 minute conversation is enough. On friday, saturday and sunday though, I have to take the time and do a considerable amount of sets/hours. You may copy me or come up with your own schedule according to your situation.

Why do a 30 day challenge? Motivate me

  • You will be taking an enormous amount of action.
  • You will get a ton of reference experience.
  • Which will make you feel more confident with yourself, knowing that you can commit to something and comply.
  • You will practice discipline, willpower and you will master consistency.
  • After a month of approaching, your neediness and outcome-dependence will drop dramatically. You will develop "non-give-a-fuck-itis".
  • You will stop relying on what others think of you as you take control over the areas of your life that are important to you.
  • If you are having problems with opening and Approach Anxiety, after dealing with this for so many days straight, you will become a master at dealing with it.
  • Momentum baby, you will learn super fast. I promise you that being so involved in this you will learn from one month of being constant much more than doing 6 months where you go out 10 days a month, simply based off momentum alone.
  • You will be challenged, some days you will be off state and tired, so you will have to push yourself. You will see how you behave in both your highs and your lows, and how you react under pressure.
  • If you are on the fence of doing pick-up, and eventually quit, at least you can say that you fucking tried and saw for yourself what it was like, and did not fall prey to your fears.
  • After a month you will have a very good grasp at what your strong points are and what your weak points are. And once you know this you can start figuring out how to address them.
  • Afterwards it will be pretty straightforward to scale up or scale down your practice according to your need. If you need to scale up just increase the time and sets each day, if you need to scale down to something more sustainable do like 4 or 5 days a week. After having done 30 days in a row, it will be a piece of cake, and you can focus on balancing all areas of your life.
  • And the most important reason of all: it will be fun and allow you to interact with a lot of women and potentially even go further.

How to go about it? Some tips

  1. After you've committed to the challenge, you will have to do pick-up for every day. I recommend starting the very same day you read this.

  2. In a piece of paper make a table with 30 squares and their respective dates, and every day after you've suceeded in gaming, you will cross the corresponding day.

  3. Afterwards you will come home and write on a notebook (or preferably on here) how the interaction went. Ideally you want to write down what happened, then analyze how the girl responded, what you think you did right and what you felt should have done better to make the interaction better.

  4. Then post in this thread about how you did. You are encouraged to post your full analysis but just making a point where you edit it every day with a simple "day x: done" would be enough. If you can make a paragraph summarizing it would be better. If you feel it warrants its own thread, you are encourage to do one. Tag it as [30DC - Day X] Awesome open on a 92 year old stunner.

  5. (Totally optional but after you've identified what you did wrong, look up videos/thread/books that may help you with that particular problems. Everyone has their favorite source. For me I love RSD content, but you can use whatever you prefer (simple pick-up, mystery method, Mark Mason's stuff).)

If you eventually get a date (here known as a "day 2) with a girl, that may count as a cross. You don't need to open if you are already having a date that day.

There may be some gray areas and its up to you to decide if they count or not, but I advice you to set clear rules and stick to them. What if there is a social circle gathering and you see new girls there and you want to make that as your approach? Its up to you, but maybe you want to set as a rule that you are at least going to escalate physically. Does internet gaming count (ie, hitting girls up on Tinder)? Again, its up to you to adapt the rules but I would advice against this.

What if I fuck up and my bad habits take over and I fail to approach?

This is key. Many of you will fail. This is a lot harder than it sounds. You will have days where its inconvenient and everything works against you. You are tired, you are cranky, you don't feel like approachng. You have to approach anyways or it goes to waste.

But you are human, and we all have willpower failures. So here is the process I advice you to take:

  1. Don't give up on the challenge, but don't let yourself of the hook.
  2. Leave that space in your calendar unchecked so you can see how much you failed (and how much you did not).
  3. Analyze what are the reasons that lead to your failure. What was the exact point of your day that you decided that you would not approach. Write it down. Then write down what you could have done to prevent this. Then think and write down about what would happen if you fail to execute like a man. Feel bad about it. Then come up with a plan or a punishment system for when you fail. For example, I have the rule that if I don't approach, I am not allowed to come home until 12 PM. Its crazy, but if I stick to this rule, then eventually I will have to approach. It works.
  4. Forget about it and feel excited about the coming day.

What if you are complete newbie, sweating blood and can't even open once?

Look, I've felt paralyzing fear before and I've gone out just to open and failed miserably. But that's okay. Julien and Tyler from RSD also speak about how they had to take hours to do their first approaches when they were beginners.

My advice to you is to baby-step it. If you are doing day game for example, begin by asking for a girl for the time or for directions to wherever. Okay, you are a little less in your head. Then, ask a girl for the time, then quickly offer a hand-shake and introduce yourself, and bounce. Then, ask the time, introduce yourself and quickly change the subject. It does not matter that you had to do shitty approches at first as long as you are eventually going into a real approach that challenges you.

So there you have it, please share how you do. What your challenges are and if you found this useful. Remember that if throw yourself against harder and harder walls, and approach them in a smart fashion, you will become a beast.

Have fun!
