Age of consent is 16 in your area so as long as it's consensual and you make an effort to make it a good experience from her to start to finish, and set her expectations ahead of time that this is just a casual thing, I don't see any issue with it.

That said, double triple check her ID she is the age she says she is. Some girls lie about age.

The rule of thumb I know of is your age divided by 2 and then 7 added which should be equal to her age. A quick Google search told me that it is called Gentleman Rule in the US.

So 21/2 is 10.5, seven added is 17.5. Seems okay from my part, but I'm not from the US, so take it with a grain of salt.

Technically it's not wrong, but I still wouldn't go through with it. For me it's weird to be 20+ and hook up with an underage person. But it depends on where you're from, people are more, or less, ok with that. Where I currently live, my female colleagues don't see it weird or creepy if a guy whose 25 fucks a girl who's 17, because the age of consent is 16, so why would it be bad? I figured girls would be the ones against this since it seems predatory to me, but they're the ones who seem more encouraging it of it. That being said, sex education is really good here, people are quite open about sex, so maybe that's why they see a 17 year old girl as sexually mature.

Many people here say that she is underaged and you should not, but for me age does not really matter, what matters most is her experience. I’m an American and don’t know enough about Aussie law or culture to really know.

Don’t know if there’s a stigma there in pursuing “barely legal” women.

If you and her hit it off and she just happened to be 17 and it’s just a casual thing (and legal) it should be fine.

I normally endorse people dating closer to their own age to minimize chances of grooming but if this is casual and expectations have been set, it seems fine.

I wouldn’t make a habit of it though and at the first sign of funny business I’d suggest you cut and run.

Also, as others have mentioned, get confirmation that she’s actually the age she says she is and don’t let it go any further before you’re 100% sure she meets the age of consent.

Don’t risk statutory rape (or whatever crime it is in Australia) cause you’re horny.
