So I’m not going to be a juvenile prick like most of these clowns.

When my girl wants this - even times when we are standing and talking to people and she is just feeling that she needs my love or support at the moment - she will just gently bend her head down and nuzzle into my chest slightly. It’s a signal I learned almost immediately meant she wanted me to hold her - even if only for a brief moment - and I respond automatically by putting my arm around her.

Try some sort of obvious physical signal like this to start. Or if he seems just clueless then just ask “would you mind holding me?” And keep it straightforward and simple.

If he rejects or declines then you know you don’t need to waste your time with him any more.

Sometimes just being direct can be super helpful and even appreciated. One time a girl I just started dating invited me over and basically said “let’s cuddle, let me get some blankets?” and there you go. Point was she took the initiative and it escalated. Pretty sure 99% of guys that are interested would love that.

You don’t have to make him sit there and wonder if his arm needs to go around you. You don’t even have to say anything if you’re shy. Just lean your head on his shoulder and that’s enough of a signal. It’ll work.

Then if he’s not brave enough, when you sit next to him put your leg next to his touching.
