How do you "just have fun" in a bar?

It is everything to do with social conduct. Bars or in any other social venue usually you go not alone, but with friends, colleagues, classmates, family etc.

When people say "have fun" they mean. Have fun by being and talking with those close people. Also, alcohol plays very important role in those social settings.

What I found that it is just a way for them to "FORGET" about work or other troubles. The reasons behind extrovert going to the bar and socialising are the same as for introvert going home and playing games. Everyone is looking for the comfort.

Because of this. Anyone can enjoy a good session of Call of duty or night out with friends. The only think you need to do to achieve this is to be open minded and immerse yourself in the thing you do at that moment.

Go to bars that have people hanging around outside mostly if there are some in your area. Try this, go around the bar and talk to a variety of girls. My go to is usually commenting on her drink by making some assumption about her based on what she’s drinking. Then she will be in a position to have to prove herself to me that she isn’t that or we can joke about it if there’s a lot of truth to it. That usually gets the conversation rolling pretty easy. Just remember to ask fun open ended questions and allow her talk and whenever you find an opportunity to tease her, take it. After talking for a bit, suddenly cut off the conversation and say something along the lines of it was nice talking to you I’m going to head back to my friends. Go back to them and later approach another girl. Keep doing this for a couple hours and watch how these same girls as well as others take notice of you and will be giving you looks and some might even approach you flat out. It’s the fact you are basically going around “testing” each girl to see who you like that will make those girls and others want to prove themselves worthy of you. Nearly any guy will pounce and try to take home any girl that seems interested in them. Doing this allows you to be in the position of making you choice by having them prove themselves to you and also when you cut off the conversation at a high point it never has to end awkwardly or have awkward moments during the conversation.

I was like you OP.

Then I started taking amphetamines. Suddenly, bars became very tolerable or even pleasant places to be. And socializing was extremely easy.

Turns out I had massive ADHD, stimulants are now my treatment.

Idk what to conclude from this.

This is the problem. To someone like me the bar is a miserable place. It's expensive and just all around not fun

It’s about relaxing and forgetting about any worries you may have at home.

How do you have fun? Interact with the people next to you. You must go with a friend, talk about things you like talking about which could be business, girls, gyms, whatever.

Then, ask the person next to you for their input on the topic you’re talking about. Example:

You to your friend: “yesterday was crazy, I watched one of the coolest movies ever and to think I was reluctant to watch it made me enjoy it even more, you MUST watch it”

Then, ask for a girl next to you: “have you seen that movie, it’s wild my bro doesn’t want to give it a chance!”

By doing that you socialize with others and create those sparks of energy that actually keep you engaged, happy. That’s how you have fun in a social situation.

Try to be energetic by focusing on things that you actually care about!

I hate bars and clubs.

If I'm going with friends - after an hour - I'm bored out of my mind and ready to leave.

If I'm going to game women - that's the only reason why I'm going - to game women - set up a bunch of dates - collect a bunch of numbers - maybe do a same night pull.

If you don't like bars, don't go, there's plenty of people who don't like them.

First, dont go in a bar late when its crowded. Pick a bar that you like and go in the daytime. I like Mon_Thurs. If its chill they will have regulars. After a while, I know enough people and you would have had multiple convos with people and bartender. If they play music you already know the bartender and the rapport with regulars makes it easy for you to start conversations with women who come in. You are generally comfortable and having a good time and the conversations are free flowing. This has worked pretty well for me and im a introvert /ambivert. You build a little Cheers family of people

I’ve never enjoyed bars. I never know what to talk about because I don’t like small talk or asking people “wHaT aRe yOu dRiNkInG?”

If you don’t like it, don’t go. Be genuine. There’s other things you can do to meet people.

Desperation is a stinky cologne my friend and I don’t mean that in a rude way. It’s simply that when you have the mentality of meeting a girl or getting laid with every social interaction, people begin to sense it from you right away. The point of the conversation you had is to encourage you to stop looking for dates and start looking for friends. After reading your attitude towards bars, it sounds like it just not your scene. Try making friends at the gym, at coffee shops, etc. Find your scene by doing things you enjoy that have a social element to them. Try the meet up app to find friend groups in your area that have common interests.

Totally agree OP. I got hifi ear plugs that work now, but clubs are still completely boring. The people watching isn't even interesting. Drug myself out to a club Meetup last night on my max dose of lorazepam, and had no warm approach opportunities. If I had a wingman it would be more tolerable, but I work with incels and married men, if telework ever stops. I do as many of the increasingly scarce Meetup events which are age restricted (otherwise they average over fifty YO here in Arizona). I'm in two clubs (only one has begun reopening but on an RSVP basis). So where are the late-30s wingmen who aren't obsessed with sports and sports bars. I have gone to bars (& strip clubs) with my incel coworkers, it's always been at closed in tables with hardly any miggling space.

The best bars (for meeting people) are crowded but not too loud to have conversations. Enough room to walk easily but crowded enough that turning around to chat with a group near you is easy and doesn’t involve a long awkward walk.

Usually this having fun people mention means hanging out with a good friend or friends you bring and telling old stories, laughing at inside jokes, drinking, etc. so you’re all having a great time and thereby magnetically draw people to y’all - they just want to get in on the fun time!!

If you’re by yourself, this is harder as someone telling stories and laughing to themselves seems worthy of a white straightjacket. Best move here is to find a group who seem a little tipsy and open (I’m a guy and usually shoot for a group of fellow guys) and talk to them (say you’re new here, want to learn more, your friend couldn’t go out, etc to build a bit of sympathy so they feel like your hosts). Laugh at their jokes, maybe buy one round or one of them a drink so they feel even closer to you, and tell some funny stories if it feels right. Then you’ve created what appears to be that vibe without having to know anyone

What I do is find something specific to do, in my case cup pong, I’ve gotten really good at it so I run the tables and people recognize me for it. Also people call me McLovin (from SuperBad movie) I saw the movie liked the reference and got the McLovin fake ID, used that and my pong to build up a reputation there and I have people come up to me all the time and I can go up to most anyone and be fine as my reputation precedes me. Also everyone is relaxed around me so I just go and be me and I have fun without any real goals except to talk to 1 new person per night

Go to bars that are inside nice restaurants, or sometimes hotel bars are OK too. Order a drink and scan the room and sometimes women come to you and talk. Make sure you wear a shiny watch, not those apple watches eveyone has.
