When many people start off in pickup they are at a stage where they often go through 6 month+ dry spells without getting laid. Then they read up on PUA techniques and convince themselves that they should be getting 9s/10s (maybe the odd 8 if they want to slum it). They ignore less attractive women.

The result is they often don't get laid, and give up after maybe a few months. When learning a new skill, your brain needs positive feedback as soon as possible, otherwise it will convince you that the skill you are trying to learn is worthless, and this is what leads people to give up. The best way to get positive feedback (i.e an fclose) early in PUA is to go after less attractive women. Note I'm not saying unattractive women. I just mean women who aren't complete stunners (6s/7s).

I really don't think anyone who isn't able to regularly bed 6s/7s has any place opening 8s/9s/10s exclusively. Don't run before you can walk. I think when you are regularly banging 6s/7s your standards will naturally increase, and now you have the skills to back it up.

Most successful PUAs I meet either regularly bang 6s/7s, or at least they did for their first half dozen or so gamed lays.

Great post and I agree. This is especially true for those male virgins out there who are waiting for the "right girl." The best thing you can do as a virgin (assuming you want to lose it) is to lower your standards and chalk those first few times up as practice.

Too many guys who start out are trying to play in "Advanced" mode when they should have selected "Beginner" mode.

It's great practice indeed, but random girls are very boring. With my newfound "balls", I did the opposite. I am much more picky, and it's worth it. I had ways with 16-17s (I'm 21), but I just can't. Also, drunk girls in clubs are really not worth it, and, even if I was still a virgin not so long ago, I couldn't lower my standards THAT much. Instead, I'm raising it, and I land girls I never thought I could. And I just keep raising, and still no rejection yet.

Someone once said something like "You're not improving until you reach failure". Think about it.

I knew a guy in the Marines who, when we went out, would unabashedly proposition every woman in the bar. Eventually we just called it "The Fields Method" (Fields being the guy's name). It went like this:

"Hey baby, my name's Kevin, what's yours?"

"Name"

"Name, you look good, wanna get outta here with me?"

I mean, it didn't work on every girl, but it worked every single time. Without fail, this dude would always leave with a girl. He got laid every time.

Why? Because he had no standards. He used to say, "As long as it's pink on the inside, I'll hit it."

So yeah, I think being picky will obviously decrease your scoring. Lower standards = more successes.

I'm the old you. I am very picky, but well... I don't know. I've told myself "alright, time to lower the bar, just for a while" and it never works. By never works I don't mean I don't get any, I just mean I fail to stop being picky.

Then again if I had to describe myself, I'd say I'm an arrogant asshole.

I always try to keep atleast 4-6 options at any given time, they range from 6s-9s. I have very high energy when it comes to women, so this allows me to space out my affection and have it just right for each individual one. As I begin to get closer to one, I can shed off the less attractive ones and give more of my attention to that one. (She essentially picks up a double shift of me.) It allows me to choose based on the qualities of each girl instead of the need to get laid. (Because I'm having sex with all of them anyway)

Some fall off by themselves, thus its important to always be talking to new girls to keep them on standby.

Thats just my method, it may work well for you.

ps. As for why HB10s arent included, I still get shifty around them because I am still a bit sour about my exgf (who was a 10) lol.

since i'm single right now i'm talking to a few ladies online and i'm not sure how far i want to take things. they are pretty keen though and pushing to meet up and hang out.

Well, good job, I guess. I would really like it when you up it a little and actually stop needing the acceptance of women for your self worth. Inner game is more important than any of the things you will learn. I've worked well doing nothing but having a good sense of self worth, and it should be your end game dude :)
