Meta discussion: What's going on?

I really think most of the questions asked here don't really need to be here, but on /r/askseddit, like the ones OP cited.

Also, it's not always that we see the quality posts or the great FRs, but there still are some once in awhile. I guess thats just how things start becoming over time.

Maybe we've already built up enough of a body of knowledge and there's nothing left to do but go out and take action?

The only value of a forum for this is we can discuss how to adapt to the changing landscape... but that's a slow process. That's why the highest voted posts from years ago still hold.

What do you expect when there is nothing left to say?

This place would be a ghost town if we deleted all the posts that should be on /r/askseddit and all the rehashed advice about inner and outer game.

The more people who follow this sub the more "mainstream" the topics become. The average reader just wants quick tricks to try to get laid. (Whether said "tricks" actually work is irrelevant, that's just what tends to get upvoted.)

I'll admit it, when I first came here 2 years ago I was looking for hacks and shortcuts to convince women to want me. I stuck around long enough to appreciate what a quality post looks like. I really love a good field report.

Maybe everyone who reads this topic (myself included) should start posting more field reports? :D

Totally agreed. Can we actually get together and figure out a way to fix this once and for all? Too much clutter and with all due respect too many lazy questions.

I think this sub should now talk about specifics and types of game like small town vs big city game or college vs real world game.

I've only been browsing here a short time, but even I've noticed a sharp decline in post quality. /r/askseddit is vastly under used, most beginner questions seem to go here now. This greatly impacts on the quality of posts we get too, which is why there's so many "Should I ask her out?" type questions (Gentlemen, I'm a beginner at best, but the answer is obviously going to be a resounding YES). Finally there are vastly different levels of respect found among the commenters here. Most commenters are supportive, and lay down harsh truths when required. The worst of us range from insulting those with questions to blatant misogynists. It's definitely not my favourite subreddit.

Ugh this question has been asked about once a week for the last 1-2 years. The answer is complex, but in short, you can blame the unwarranted criticism of TofuTofu's book (killed traffic, drove animosity), an increase of people who want to learn seduction but want to also be the moral police against others who fuck on the first date, and of course the abandonment of fundamental ideas and reading the sidebar (oneitis posts are strong).

I wrote about this a while ago...it hasn't changed much. The onus to fix this is on the users...we used to self-police and do a killer job driving content and the conversation. Now it's stale and full of beginners who arrive, learn a basic thing, and leave.

I was one of the people (only person?) who responded to that post. I decided to do my first FR today if you guys wanna check it out and tell me what you think. I do agree that the former state of the sub used to be better/more advanced. it was a post like this that inspired me to write my post so hopefully these posts will in turn inspire further.

To add to your post, I keep seeing reports of people approaching for the first time and having a tremendously awkward and uncomfortable experience... it makes me wonder how many sedditors are considering the "ramping up" approach to seduction. It seems wiser to me to develop a certain tolerance before jumping into approaches. Why not start with something a little more bearable, like paying random people genuine compliments and then going about our day... There are all sorts of steps we can take before we get to approaching to make the process more smooth. This is a gradual process and should be treated as such. We shouldn't be trying to leap to the top of the staircase from the first step.

I've got 3 almost completed field reports on my desktop, never got around finishing them and posting. I just feel the seduction communitx changed so much in the last year or maybe it's me who changed.

As someone who has asked a question right here, just earlier today, I think I might give some insight into why I did that.

Believe it or not, I've been here for more than a year, and during that time, I'd say I've been more or less putting a lot of effort to incorporate the ideas discussed here in my life. I've read the featured side bars more than once, so to say that I'm just a lazy person who wasted the time of seddit rather than do my own research would be a very flawed perspective.

To use my own post as an example, I know now that the core idea that was getting in my way had been discussed in the side bar, but I never really "grocked" it. I didn't identify myself as the person who was having that limited mindset, and if the kind sedditors of Seddit who responded to my post, I probably would still consider myself as someone who has no problem with talking to everybody, but now I see a flaw in myself that I can now work to fix

Which leads me to what I think is the flaw in your thinking - in my eyes (and I hope in y'alls eyes, too), Seddit is a place to get better at Seduction, and to become better with women.

What you want Seddit to become is the proverbial circle-jerk, where we all just post things that will make us (and the people who read it) feel better. But when it actually comes to getting better, you call people, who are legitimately trying to get better, and maybe have spent the past year to get better, "lazy", instead of trying to help them.

That's what's wrong with Seddit

Edit: and before you say "but that's what AskSeddit is for!" : Nobody gets an answer on AskSeddit. If I know I'm going to get a response, and the help that I need, by asking on Seddit, I'm going to fucking ask on Seddit, because AskSeddit is useless. So if you are so serious about making AskSeddit the place people go to ask questions, then lets make AskSeddit into less of a graveyard
