Funnily enough, once I started getting better at this whole seduction thing I stopped caring so much about whether or not I got laid.
I originally got into this whole game for the sole purpose of getting laid more consistently.
Odd how that works.

For myself the fixation on sex is because I'm still a virgin at 22, and I've tried to push sex to the side of my priorities and just 'let it happen' but it doesn't really help. I feel that once my virginity is gone, the immediate fixation will disappear so I can finally get on with my life. Any other virgins among this community will probably know what I'm talking about, that sensation of waiting to move on with your life. But until then unfortunately, not a day goes by where my virginity and sex pops into my mind.
[–]Berserkeruuu 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I am virgin at 22 as well but by choice man. I was raised in a religious family. So i always stopped myself from going balls deep. Trust me not a big deal, I just get horny and enjoy the feeling of what a woman can do to my body. I personally enjoy sharing the emotional connection. I am just learning this stuff so I can meet more people and be better at socializing so when I do meet women which I want to emotionally connect with I can man up and show my interest as well.
[–]GrantW01 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I already know how to connect with girls well, I just have confidence issues and ridiculous naivety. I also enjoy that emotional connection too. But whereas your virginity is by choice and therefore doesn't bother you, mine isn't. And even though outwardly I don't really care, it does bother me to some degree that I am still a virgin. I'll be happier and better for it.

Tbh the social pressure doesn't really phase me, if people ask me about my sexual experiences I have absolutely no problem going 'yeah I'm a virgin', and if they look down on me for that then fuck them (ironic pun?). For me it's more of a need to prove to myself that I can get a girl to like me enough to sleep with her. I've had maybe 2 chances that I've missed due to my naivety, but I have seddit to thank for those 2 chances. I just want it gone
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Basically in the same boat as you (lost my V card when 20). And it's hard to understand the fixation on sex when it's really not that big a deal once you've had it. After everything you hear it's almost disappointing that it's not that life changing. I still don't get why people are so obsessed by it.
I guess they just see it as a metric to measure your value by. Which it really isn't. Also, my first time was within a stable relationship and I know that I miss the intimacy and complicity of being a couple more than sex in itself.
[–]GrantW01 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What should I think of it as instead?
It's really more about having little experience than getting to a new level in life, since it has no physical implications for us males. It boggles the mind once you understand how little anyone cares that you've lost your virginity. It's not like people high five you on the street (except your friends of course).
You should have a healthy attitude towards sex, and be in the moment when it happens. You've probably read way enough stuff on what to do once in the sack (I know I did), and it'll happen quite naturally, so don't obsess over it.
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
"It all depends on what the guy wanted, the guy who is happiest defines what he wants and goes after it."
I love this line. In the end it's up to the person to decide what he wants to do with the skills and information that he's learned from seduction and game. Some use to find the one girl that they want to marry, others to improve their current relationships with their girlfriend or wife, others use it with the intentions of going out and getting laid.
No one ever said that the goal of learning seduction was to get laid as much as you can, it's up to he individual to decide what their priorities are.
[–]fathobie5 points 13 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm not implying this. I understand that people use these seduction techniques in all aspects of life. But i feel that an anxiety can arise from not realising this and thinking its all about the sex. I am speaking about myself here. Maybe I am the only one who had this obession with getting laid. But I think that in publicizing your sex life can (possibly) lead impressionable beginners in to thinking this is all about sex.
we are all just running our own race i guess.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I know you weren't implying it, I was just stating a belief that alot of people feel is the primary reason they should be getting into the game. When it isn't true at all. And it most likely has lead to impressionable beginners who get into the game thinking that it has to be their main goal.
[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 13 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
I take your point, but I don't think there's much of an obsession with numbers here. I think there's possibly an overemphasis on getting sex on the same day you meet someone, but I don't see people generally espousing the idea that sex will make your life fulfilling. In fact, most of what I see here focuses on improving the quality of your social life regardless of whether you get laid or not. Of course most men value sex, but anyone with half a brain and even modest sexual experience knows that it's not going to 'complete' them. It's more the case that sex can be a normal and enjoyable part of life for a happy, socially active individual.
Personally, I agree with you on the preoccupation with 'going out', meaning hitting bars and clubs for cold approach, but that's really a personal preference. I'm not here because I'm particularly interested in that, but there's still a lot of material of value for someone like me who already has lots of opportunities to meet women through my social circle, hobbies and studies, and feels comfortable socially, but needs help on how to indicate my interest and generate and capitalise on attraction. There's a lot more depth here than "Here are some tricks to help you get a one night stand with a stranger."

I just fell upon this rant in my search to feel better about myself and thought that it provides a perspective that is interesting. I want to make clear that I found this and that I didn't actually write it up myself.

I see, I was focusing on the text and didn't pay a great deal of attention to the intro. Whilst it doesn't change the discussion, I think that the fact the main text is from another site explains why it seems focused on an issue that doesn't seem particularly big on this subreddit.
In a funny way, Seddit makes me feel better about the fact that I haven't got laid in a long time, and not because I think "Aha, now I've found the solution!" but because it helps me to understand a sexualised world - even without sex, that understanding is important. Oddly, I've managed to end up having had a number of successful relationships, developed plenty of confidence socially and have multiple groups of friends both male and female, but all without really understanding what it is to express or identify interest in someone, or what is relevant in attraction over the timescale of a single interaction. So whilst I'm not a typical candidate for learning cold approach as a way to get with women, or even someone who feels the need for sex on a one-night basis, I still find the subreddit useful.
[–]caspermania 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Love this, and I can attest to a similar experience with seddit thus far. Funny enough, I think I've been having sex less than I was before checking out seddit. Although it should be said that the quality of woman I am attracting now has gone significantly up. This is because seddit taught me to NOT need sex, and that sex is simply a byproduct of living a certain way. I'm spending most of my time now on improving myself, those that I surround myself with, and my general outlook on life.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think for most people who feel frustrated about not having sex, it comes from an irritation that other people seem to be able to do it much more easily and not understanding how - as with most things, when you have an idea of how things work, it's much harder to feel annoyed because you can see a way to do it. Sex itself, while a lot of fun, is a pretty straightforward desire and isn't really going to mess your mind up, but feeling inadequate to compared to others, or left out, is much more damaging.
[–]Pugilanthropist 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bingo. This is exactly what's going on with me, and you articulated it extremely well.
Now, how I get past that ...
It's sort of a "chicken and an egg" situation. Because I know that what's different about me is that I do completely lack outcome independence. And as a result, it colors my conversations, it affects my inner game, and thus it lowers my ability to seduce.
And the fact that my ability is lowered to seduce is what starts this whole cycle.
Add to that it's been a while, that this is an extremely long dry spell for me, and it leaves me in a real emotional pickle, which only furthers the cycle and continues the dry spell.
Getting out of that funk, that's where my real hiccup is right now.
Any suggestions?

I like when guys say, "I'm not here to because I NEED THIS. I know everyone else does but I'm already doing great. I just came here and spend my energy reading and posting for no reason."
Back in the day we used to call this Keyboard Jockey.
Just admit it, dude. You came here for the same reason everyone else did, because you're not having a fulfilling sex life with abundance and you are trying to fix it.
This pretending you have it figured out is as old as this community. Sorry but guys who are actually experienced will see right through your shit.
But you're probably happy that maybe the inexperienced will at least look up to you. To alot of guys, impressing other guys is easier and more satisfying than actually getting success with women.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Why are you being so aggressive? I don't think there's anything I wrote which suggests I believe I know everything, and I explicitly state that there are things I need help with that this subreddit is useful for.
I have an interest in talking about things which are interesting to me. You're the one who seems to have a preoccupation with feeling superior.
[–]RonnieLibra 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
No need to get defensive man, half your post was about how great everything is for you and how you're not really here for anything but you "might" be able to pick up a few tips here and there.
Just be real man. You don't score points by trying to impress people on an anonymous computer forum.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
If you view everything as point-scoring, that's a problem with your perception, not with my expression.
[–]RonnieLibra 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Did you get that from a song or something? Look man, it's simple. Be the real you. That's all.
Don't worry about impressing people and just be real with people.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
"Be the real you, as long as the real you is someone I approve of" is I think what you're saying. Has it occurred to you that a person who doesn't worry about impressing people doesn't deliberately avoid saying things which might be interpreted as impressive?
[–]RonnieLibra 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Dude, look at how you're acting. You wouldn't feel the need to defend yourself if you knew, deep down in your heart, that you were being real with people.
You were all Mr Cool when you wrote your big long, "I don't need this but I'm here anyway," post and now you're all explain, explain, explain, qualify, qualify, qualify.
Like I said, it's one thing to pretend you are living a life of abundance on the computer screen, but it's another thing to ACTUALLY BE THAT GUY.
Your very ACTIONS are telling me who you are. You and I both know the truth. You can bark on here all you want. It doesn't change reality.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
A dialogue has two participants, and you're the one pressuring me over a comment about my life. I could have ignored you, sure, but I felt surprised by the level of negativity you were displaying towards something I felt wasn't particularly incendiary, so I decided I'd like to see what was behind it. I'm sure you'll interpret this as further defence, but really I'm primarily confused. I don't know what I've done that makes the way I talk about myself such a critical issue for you.
[–]RonnieLibra 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Look - I'll say this again for the 3rd or 4th time in a row. Pay attention or don't. That's up to you.
I can tell you how to improve. You can either listen or be so focused on trying to present yourself in a certain way to the people reading that you miss, again, what I'm telling you.
However, another guy may come along and benefit from what I have to say so I'll say it anyway.
You can either focus your energy on Impressing other guys, which is a substitution MANY MANY guys take in this game because they get validation from it and it's easier than the other choice. - This path leads to Stalling Your Progress, but the trick it you will get validation for your ego from other guys which will be a substitute for actual success with women.
And that other choice is - You can focus your energy on improving your skillset with women. This is harder for most guys and you are not unique in trying to pretend you have it all figured out. No one wants to be the "new guy". But the key is by being honest with yourself and with others you will learn and progress MUCH MUCH faster. - This path leads to improvement.
By being straight forward with others you will be straight forward with yourself. That means you will be able to be open about the things you need to improve upon instead of trying to hide them and not addressing them.
I don't care what choice you make. That path is yours. But if you feel your life is unhappy despite the fact that you keep up appearances to other guys on the forum, maybe you need to take a step away from the Parade on the Computer and start being real with yourself.

I agree with the spirit of this post, but if you aren't getting laid you will not be successful in pickup. That's just the truth of it. The ability to sexually seduce a woman gives you access to more long-term relationship prospects, so if you want to "fall in love" learning how to get laid is part and parcel to "finding the one and keeping her."
This whole thing reads like a justification for a man who is sexually frustrated.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
While I also get that vibe, I think OP was trying to say that sex shouldn't be your be-all end-all goal in life, and people are somehow wrong to judge your whole personality by your success rate. However, one shouldn't spend so much time on PUA forums if sex is not that big a concern for one.
[–]whomeverIwishtobe 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I got sex not being the be all end all to happiness which is true, there are a lot of things besides sex that make me really happy like drugs and books.

I get laid plenty these days and personally I am happy. It's a bit stressful at times, as you mentioned, but to me that is fun. I like playing the game. Am I happier than the times I have been in love? I don't really know, maybe and maybe not. There are advantages to both. In fact I'm plenty happy doing both. But I generally do feel happier and more satisfied when I'm having a lot of sex, be it in a relationship or racking up numbers. At this stage I just prefer to meet a lot of women and have fun with all of them. They are all different and bring out a different response in me, and that is fun and interesting right now. Eventually I'll slow down, but right now I am 100% happy and content as I am.
To the same point, I do read and comment every now about PUA in general, but at no point do i feel the need to brag about my accomplishments, post FR's, etc to anyone but my very close friends, especially not on the internet. I just do it because it makes me happy.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree with the OP on one aspect of his post but on another I strongly disagree.
I disagree because even when I have regular and consistent sex in my life, it has remained an extremely important thing for me. I find that sex is one of the most important things in life, at least in my case, because it allows me to fully live in the moment. I can escape worrying about the past and future and appreciate the "now" like almost nothing else. It also allows for connection with another person in a way that is quite unique. It is exciting and fulfilling to me like almost nothing else that I can think of. Sex is not everything in life but the passion one can achieve through deeply intimate sex is an experience that one simply can't make excuses for not trying to achieve.
On the other hand, I agree with the post about the number of women a guy has slept with. Numbers for the sake of themselves, after a certain point, are basically irrelevant. My drive now is not to add notches to my belt but to continue to learn about women and experience deep and passion filled experiences. This means being with women that I actually have a connection with and am interested it. One needs a variety of experiences to really know whats best. However, sleeping with 100 more women while drunk, that you don't care about, isn't going to improve you or your life very much.
Sex can be pretty valueless especially as you have many other experiences to compare with. It can also be like the best, most addictive drug you can imagine, to a point where nothing else exists or matters at that moment.

This subreddit is driven by a lot of guys who are focused on sex and not love. That means a lot of the advice here is of limited value to the many young visitors here who are just trying to learn to be successful at dating.
As someone whose goal was always to fall in love and find a good relationship, a lot of the PUA advice seems laughable to me. But some of it would have been useful back in my short-term relationship and dating days. I hope everyone realizes that the whole PUA thing is built for another goal - getting laid and one night stands.
Edit: To respond to other commenters: There is a different game you play if you are looking for a relationship. For example, this subreddit has a fascination with having sex on a first date. It also places an emphasis on meeting women while out at bars and similar places. Those tactics may get you in a short-term relationship, but they won't necessarily help you find a quality woman with whom you connect.
I think the problem is not with this subreddit, which I think was created specifically for PUA stuff, the problem is with the fact that so many guys here are actually looking for long-term relationships. That game is played differently. And the various "gurus" on this site do not seem particularly interested in playing that game. If they did, they would be in a long-term relationship and wouldn't be dating anymore.
[–]maestroni 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
It's much easier to fall in love and start a healthy relationship after you've already had sex. The PUA thing gets you up to that point and then it's up to you to decide what kind of relationship you want to build.
[–]RonnieLibra 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
True story. The OP is irrelevant to the purpose of this sub.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I totally agree. But you don't need to do it on the first night you meet someone. And that seems to be the goal of many folks giving advice here.
[–]maestroni 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You don't need to, but you can. And I don't see how it could hurt your chances for a potential relationship.
Some women freak out after moving too fast. Sleeping on a first date carries social stigma and many women find it emotionally confusing.
[–]frogma 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This subreddit is driven by a lot of guys who are focused on sex and not love.
Well that sucks, because I'd say about 90% of guys here are looking to start long-term relationships.
I think the majority of the mods would still advise people to have sex as early as possible, regardless of what "kind" of relationship they're trying to build. You can go ahead and wait until the nonexistent "right time," but that's what 10-year-olds already know how to do (some just have to wait longer than others). Nobody needs advice on how to accomplish that.
Assuming you're looking for an LTR and for some reason acting "differently" in order to find one (IMO that whole premise is flawed from the start, and likely won't work in your favor), 99% of your interaction is gonna be based on talking. Which is great, because talking is like 99% of what we talk about here already.
As far as "falling in love" is concerned -- we're not robots. We're all perfectly capable of falling in love. And again, nobody should need advice on how to do that unless they fall somewhere along the autism spectrum (in which case, they might have some more pertinent issues). If anything, the majority of guys here need advice on how to be more selective and not fall in love so quickly with someone they hardly know (if at all).
The way it's always been for me is that once I get laid, I can usually dictate the terms of the "relationship" from that point on. Once you meet someone and get to know them, it shouldn't be a constant struggle to maintain the relationship (not to say you don't have to work at it, because you do, but shit -- the girl already likes you).
This sub is more focused on those initial interactions and sex because that's what the large majority of people have issues with. No doubt, there are some people who are "obsessed" with sex, but I'd put that number at about 10%. I think you and the OP are confusing those two perspectives. It's like if this sub was dedicated specifically to the very first interaction you have with someone, then it might seem like some people are "obsessed" with those initial interactions, and don't seem to "care" about anything beyond that.

Everybody has their own values. If one guy values having sex with many women, who's to say he's wrong? If another guy values not having sex with many women, that's his business too.
This guy doesn't like guys talking about what they value so he tells them to accept his values? I think he could have said a lot more with simply "Live and let live," which he didn't himself practice when he tells others what they should and shouldn't do.
So it reads to me like "The lady doth protest too much, methinks".

If you measure your success by how often you get laid, that's because deep down inside you believe that you don't deserve to get laid. So your "success" consists of acquiring something that you previously couldn't get. But if you really do believe you deserve to have sex, then getting laid isn't a measure of anything.
Girls and guys both love having sex. It's our natural disposition. We're all a bunch of horny primates and we all really enjoy gettin' it on. You deserve to have sex with a hot girl just as much as she deserves to have sex with you.
This whole notion that guys have to conquer girls to get sex is a byproduct of the popular false belief that girls don't like it and don't want it. Once you get over that, "getting laid" loses a lot of its mystique.
[–]exophrine -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
As a guy, I never understood the overemphasis that some other guys have with having sex. I always chalked it up to it being the residual be-all, end-all feeling from their virgin days. Now I can understand a guy wanting to keep doing it once they've started, but now that you've achieved that beginning, you also have to mature and grow as a person at least a little bit and set your goals higher. Move onto more, bigger, better sexual challenges and get more out of it; like any skill, you should move up, at least I'd hope you would.
"Doesn't matter, had sex" has to be the epitome of sexual male stupidity. Yeah, you did have sex...so what? It's not much of a victory if you join the sexual/reproductive ranks of dogs and gerbils.

I think it's funny how guys try to come here and say "Guys you're really better than this!"
That's not the point of this community.
Not only that, we don't want to be saved. The thought that you're better than any of us is not only insulting to us, but damaging to your growth as a man.
The article poses a decent point. Sex isn't the only goal. The seduction community is a glorified self help community.
On that token, however, one must remember that success in this community is measured by the opposite sex.
The hardest process in the world is getting a girl from meet to sex... Generally. Assuming you're not paying her or forcing her.
Meeting a girl and convincing her you are SO awesome that 10 minutes/7 hours from now she should be fucking you is an INCREDIBLY difficult task.
First of all, we already know that attractive habits = getting girls. We already know that coming off as unrehearsed/being "natural" completely beat sounding like a robot. We know that the guy getting laid like a rockstar isn't necessarily as happy as a rockstar.
But you guys need to understand that people preaching this shit are either trying to hurt your game or sell you something.
The fact of the matter is this. If you read any single part of this paragraph, it's this: Getting laid won't make you happy. It won't. It does succeed in one thing however. Measuring success. We all want to become better people. We believe we aren't great because we have failed with the opposite sex. Or at the very least we don't think we're achieving our full potential. Either way, how do you know you're improving in either pursuit? Sex. Once you're getting tons of it, how do you know you're getting better? You're getting tons of it faster.
So sex won't make you happy. But it's a damn good sign that you're on the road to happiness.
[–]fathobie3 points 13 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link
I am not saying I am better than anyone. If anything I just feel there is a need to for multiple perspectives. I don't agree with you that sex measures success either. Maybe for you, and maybe for others. If knowing that you have fucked more people than me makes you feel better about yourself, that it makes you feel more successful in life If then I'm glad my inability to sleep around is making you feel superior. There are other measures of success. Like being an authentic human being.
[–]Michael_Cassio 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Umm, in this community it does.
Like I said, seduction is a subset of the self help community. But with one caveat. It's in relation to women.
Take a look at basketball. There are multiple ways to measure success. Whether it's being able to dribble the ball and run down the court without looking or consistently making 3 pointers. Both are definitely forms of success. But which is harder? Which is a better indicator that you're growing better as a player?
I'm gonna assume you said being able to make 3 pointers. Seeing that making baskets is how you win. What's even funnier is that in that pursuit, you would learn to dribble!
Let's go back to seduction. What's THE hardest thing? Talking to girls? Hmm at first but no. Liking yourself? Maybe. But still not quite. Kissing them? Touching them? Making them laugh, like you, have fun, or call you the next day? Each one of those are difficult in their own right, however, STILL not the hardest.
The hardest thing to do is to get a girl to willingly have sex with you.
It's not that getting tons of sex means you're "winning" the game. But it DOES mean you're successful. And HEY! Wait a minute! Isn't that funny? In learning to GET LAID, you learn to become an authentic human being!!! :O
A lot of the shit that guys try to defend in this community, ARE STAPLES OF IT ALREADY, JUST REDRESSED UNDER THE GUISE OF MORAL SUPERIORITY!
People hate on Mystery Method cause it's "scripted" and "inauthentic" BUT WAIT A MINUTE, the first few pages of The Mystery Method talks about how "We give you stock routines to learn the method but in 3 weeks, switch them out for routines YOU'VE made and stories that happened TO YOU." Just like that you go from sleazy pick up guy to authentic you!
I'm not saying getting laid is THE measurement. When you're not good at pick up, don't shoot for the stars right away. Maybe you DO need to learn to dribble before you start shooting three pointers. But once you get it the first time, don't lose it.
If you want to learn to be a better person and not how to pick up girls, you're in the wrong subreddit bro. Or at least you're severely misunderstanding it.
In order to get girls, you become a better person. But if you want to become a better person while clogging up the reddit talking about how to get girls, then you probably don't belong here.

I'm not saying I feel morally superior for this dry patch I'm going in to. I definitely admire other men for succeeding. I want to have sex with loads of attractive women, yes i do. That's why I am here.
In learning to GET LAID, you learn to become an authentic human being!!! :O
While getting laid may help you become a more sociable and confident person (i have no doubt) I do reckon in some cases continual success can override authenticity and evolve in to straight up narcissism. But anyway, I have my opinion, you have yours... s'all done.

It depends on the person. I remember when I first got into this community, I pretty much vowed that I would never LIE. In fact, I even talk about the community. I tell girls about the work I've done on myself.
I don't lie to girls. If I do, I usually do it as a joke or quickly say "I'm just kidding." You're right guys can get laid by lying but that's not self improvement. That's acting. It means you got a good shot at going into movies but personally whenever I succeed with women, it's a HUGE confidence boost because I'm learning that the real me is actually very attractive.
So in my experience, embracing myself and becoming a better me has become my way of getting girls. And I measure success by well... Succeeding at that.

Why? Girls want sex just as much as guys do. I don't have to try to convince anyone I'm awesome because I am awesome. Girls want to have sex with me because I'm a great guy and they love having sex with great guys.
Try flipping the script for a minute. Imagine a lingerie model saying, "meeting and convincing a guy to have sex with me is an incredibly difficult task". That would sound ridiculous, right? Why? Because men love sex with beautiful women and everyone knows it. Well, the big secret about dating is that women love sex with hot guys just as much. Most of them just don't admit it as easily.
Haha okay Tyler!
Dude, that mindset is even MORE destructive. You're right. Girls DO like to have sex. But let's be honest. Before you learned pick up, did you just magically get sex all the time? Did you walk down the street and girls just say "Hey we're both horny! Let's fuck!" Cause odds are, they didn't.
Yes calling yourself awesome in your head is great and all but at the same time, it can quickly become an excuse. This isn't the fucking self help community. It's the SEDUCTION community. There is no mindset more destructive in this community than the "I'm too cool to pick up girls" mindset cause that's counter intuitive. Even the greats like Mystery, Style, Tyler Durden, etc they all still WORK to get girls.
Even when you're good, it's not easy.
[–]UnapologeticalyAlive 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah, being awesome takes work. You don't go from a basement-dwelling neckbeard to casanova just by deciding to be confident. Being awesome requires you to get in shape, sharpen your wits, update your wardrobe, become comfortable talking to strangers, pursue your passions, and generally succeed at something. But once you are awesome, finding girls who want to sleep with you is easy. And you shouldn't do all that stuff just because you want girls to like you. You should do it all because you respect yourself and you want to be the best version of yourself.
Being awesome is never a reason not to pick up girls. It's a reason to talk to girls everywhere you meet without being afraid they won't like you.
Alright buddy. Tell me all about when you're at that level. Getting QUALITY girls to sleep with you is never easy.
It's worth the work though if you're awesome. Because you deserve awesome girls.
But all too often there are guys in this community who try to say "Hey guys we should stop picking up girls! Getting girls isn't about learning how to get girls, it's about circle jerking and convincing ourselves we're awesome!"
The golden age of pick up is over. I miss when pick up was about pick up.

I'm willing to bet you're not having much sex.
[–]UnapologeticalyAlive 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
At the moment I have a girlfriend. We have sex every day, but that's cheating at the "getting laid" game so it doesn't really apply. When I was last single, I was usually dating around three girls at any given time and having regular sex with them.
I don't know why nobody believes me, but I swear to God and all that is holy, there are plenty of girls out there who just really love cock and can't get enough. I've dated quite a few of them.

My fixation on sex has diminished so much it is crazy. I came to college a social idiot who hadn't even kissed a girl in his life. Here I am 6 months later with a girlfriend who is falling in love with me, who tells me she will give it up once I say those magic three words. Suddenly, sex isn't such a big deal to me, because I know that I have the ability to make it happen. All of my friends are like "Dude, what happened to you? You seem much less anxious now." I tell them that I CAN get girls now.

this post was submitted on 08 Apr 2013 176 points (79% like it) 235 up votes 59 down votes
Proves that 79% of the guys that voted on this thread are not having sex or if they are, settling for "low hanging fruit" not abundance.
Or rather 235 guys are not having sex etc.
Go figure.
Not that there's anything wrong with that (if guys are seriously trying to improve themselves), but posts like this are hijacking guys and taking them off the right path.
All because some guy wants to feel like other people shouldn't succeed where he is failing. I get this is a repost but I can promise the Original Author is not having much sex in his life.

Do you think guy A who has fucked 1000 girls is happier then guy B with a wife, 2 kids, and a dog?
Do you think guy A who makes $2million [or even $150k] is happier than guy B who works at McDonalds?
Do you think guy A who works out everyday is happier than guy B who is a fat fuck?
Do you think guy A who takes the time to cook and eat exquisite meals every day [or get some sexy thing to do it for him] is happier than guy B who eats lean quisine and hot pockets?
...
Fucking yes, absolutely.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why?
You do understand why this is a fallacy, right?
The example given was 2 DIFFERENT lifestyles (Married life VS Single life). Those are two completely different things, that make different people happy. The "Making 2million/year VS 150K/year" is not the same comparison, as there are clearly no benefits to less money, whereas married life provides you with a family, a better, more meaningful connection to one person (Hopefully, if you're marrying them), etc.
After re-reading your post, I'm realizing I was probably trolled. Fuck it.

Jesus. The way of the community has gone down hill since it's inception.
IT IS ABOUT GETTING LAID.
[–]RonnieLibra -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Let's look at this from a perspective of "back in the day".
Back in the day this community, asf then masf, was built around 1 thing - Learning how to seduce women. It was STARTED by Ross Jeffries.
Alt.Seduction.Fast = Learn how to seduce women quickly or Speed Seduction
Moderated.Alt.Seduction.Fast = Learn how to get laid fast and articles like this OP would be deleted or unapologetically scrapped.
Then a bunch of other guys got on board like Mystery and co and they talked about DIFFERENT ways to get laid. It's a community of guys who are here, from it's INCEPTION, learning how to IMPROVE the "GETTING LAID" area of their lives.
Seriously. That's what it's about. That's what it's ALWAYS been about.
Look man, there are plenty of Koombiya, sit around the campfire, lesbian seagull, hold hands, namby pamby groups out there where people can learn how to be happier.
Articles like THIS are SHIT. And the reason they are shit is because people are coming here to learn a skill - Getting Laid better and Faster.
If you go to a Mechanics forum, where people talk about being better at Mechanics, you're not going to find bullshit about, "Man you don't need to be good at building an engine. It's not about that. It's about just being happy."
Or a Surgery Forum - "Don't worry if you can perform better surgery or not. Who cares about saving lives? It's not about that. It's about being happy. As long as you're happy you shouldn't be worried about if you can save your patient's life or not."
Fuck that shit.
Here's what's happening. All the noobs come to Seddit. I like seddit because it has community aspects, but it is a battle ground of AFC infiltrators who saturate many of the pages with AFC thinking.
Then other AFCs bump up the posts.
Look, there's nothing wrong with having desires as a man. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be better at attracting women.
Women have it down to an artform. They learn this since day 1 and trade notes. They are so good at it they can tell themselves, "it's not about sex" and be fucking on the regular.
So be happy there is a place to learn about SEX - If there was one change I'd like to see on this forum it would be Hard Moderation, throwing out all the shit that takes away from learning seduction, LIKE THIS POST, and preserving it so guys can get more information geared towards SEDUCTION.
Take all the filler out of it. Take all the "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" crap (like this post) and toss it out.
Let men come here, with their desires as a man for MORE women and MORE sex and let that be cool. Let that be what this is about.
BECAUSE, News flash, It IS.
Go to the Doctor Phil Forums and talk about, "It's not about sex. It's about being happy."
It is about being happy - Having more sex and women in your life.
The end.
PS - I'm not against being happy but I am against guys who don't get laid telling guys who do or who are trying to learn that they have the wrong thinking about it.
Seriously?

I am Choir.
This is sort of the double edged sort of reddit communities as they grow. I see it all the time in /r/music--where the lowest common denominator rules at large and the actual value of the content decreases as the population increases. Don't get me wrong, LCD stuff isn't all bad, there are still interesting posts here and that's why I still come, but there is increasingly more shit than anything else here and there comes a time when people start going, 'why am I even here?'. I find it depressing but at the same time devilishly amazing because I know this community is creating a new breed of subman that just makes my life so much easier in the field.
