This year, Valentine's day will serve as "self-love" day. (Haha although every day this year is going to be self-love day!)

I'm going to do something nice for myself this Valentine's day. Haven't made a plan yet but I'm going to do something nice like go to a musical or comedy or go practice billiards or something like that. I'm definitely going to get myself some NICE flowers. I purchase flowers for myself often, and replace them as soon as they wilt. I usually go for flowers that are on sale at whole foods because I buy them so often, but for Valentine's I'm going to get a more expensive bouquet.

When I started working my detailing job the supervisor had a huuuuuge crush on one of the girls that worked there and often confided in me about it. So it was my first week and he was driving me and talking about all he did for her, “On Valentine’s Day I got her a gift!! I didn’t even get my girl a gift!!!”. LMAO YALL SHOULDVE SEEN MY FACE. And later I found out, not only his girl, his WIFE OF 20 YEARS with FIVE KIDS.

Being single on Valentine's Day is so freeing. No expectations, no disappointment.

Years ago, I went on a first date with a guy on Valentine's Day. Neither one of us even thought about it until we were already at the restaurant and realized it was filled with couples celebrating VD. We had an awkward laugh about it. Ended up dating him for 5 months and dumped him when he stood me up at a mutual friend's wedding that he was supposed to be my date for. Jerk.
