I was in an age-gap relationship where he was older than me by 13 years - I was 19. I thought it was so cool and flattering to be seen as an equal by a much older man (spoiler alert: he didn't). All the things that I've been reading about on FDS about what a LVM is, he fits to a TEE. Even being so much older than me, he had problems with commitment, his actions, his words and communication, and would stonewall me and manipulate me. I thank god that I, even at that age, had the sense to try and leave him multiple times (spoiler alert: he wouldn't let me).

Now, at 30 years old, I am closer to his age when he began dating me than when I was 19, and ladies, BLECCCCCCHHH. I cannot fathom being a human being in my 30s and seriously looking at someone over a decade younger than I am and finding them sexually or mentally attractive. I might look at a boy in undergrad and think, "wow, what a handsome kid," or "that boy's going to grow up to be very good-looking," but I would NEVER think "wow I could really pursue a relationship with this boy."

One of the things that my LVX used to tell me was that he didn't want me to grow up to think that "I stole the best years of your life and think that I took away the prime of your twenties." The audacity! So he even knew in the back of his head exactly what he was doing! And little bebe Pickmesha me jumped to defense mode to try and placate HIM. Excuse YOU, I am in my thirties and my prime of life has just begun!

I really used to wish there was a platform where we could educate young ladies, young teenage girls and women, and at its core I love the message that FDS sends. The men who actively pursue younger women and girls usually do it for a reason, ranging from superficial reasons at best and nefarious reasons at worst.

Have you ever had significant age-gap relationships where now, as a grown woman, you look back with anger and frustration that you didn't leave sooner?
