I had this! After we broke up he got his shit together and blamed me for enabling him. Literally the entire relationship I was helping with his resume, helping him apply to colleges, I got him a job. Everything to try to help him better himself. The reality is that, biologically, men need to feel like men. In all of his other relationships the woman relied on him, and he treated them exponentially better than he treated me. He bought his new girlfriend a car and she ended up cheating on him. I helped him buy a car... it’s never worth it! Don’t build a man.

Edit: mods are quick man lol, had a comment saying I “blew this out of proportion”, and if it was mutual then whatever. Apparently this man never heard of gaslighting, manipulation and unfulfilled promises. The breakup wasn’t mutual. I dumped him after he promised to pay me rent, and instead went and bought a 50k car for himself (getting rid of the brand new 25k car I helped him get) and when I asked for rent he said “but I spent it on my car”. He wasn’t even hiding the blatant disrespect and manipulation anymore

Moral of the story is, his amazing humor/personality means nothing if you’re on two different playing fields financially, in maturity, and in empathy. We need to stop glorifying trying to build men up. I don’t care what you have in common. It’s superficial. The requirements for a PARTNER isn’t that you both like the same video games, it’s someone who has your same values, morals, financial knowledge, ambition, and plan for life. This isn’t what we’re told growing up, we’re called gold diggers if we don’t take in a man that’s broke.

Guys, even if let's say the guy is really smart and talented, and you're sure he can make it..in whatever passion he is pursuing.. Don't.

This is not the world where there were limited job opportunities. A person who wants to follow their passion should also be smart enough to build a side hustle. Seriously, there are so many jobs a person can where you need a laptop, a phone, and an Internet connection.

But scrotes aren't going to want to do that. Why? Because those things also require developing skills and efforts.

If a person can't put effort in supporting themselves first, how are gonna put effort in their passion ? And how are they gonna put any effort in the relationship ?

Once I finally (omg it took me so long) wised up to my ex husband/sperm donor being a hobosexual and cut things off, it was really gratifying to see him go through a series of “fiancees”, each of which lasted between 6 months and a year.

They wised up a lot faster than I did 😊 or he’s getting sloppy. Either way, I’m free and he’s a broke bitch.

Preachhh! Especially the potential part. So many college men will be like ‘yeah I am studying pre med, law, business bla bla bla’ and young women will fall in love because these college men will be making ‘bank’ in the future. Even my friends mum worked two jobs in college to support her boyfriend now husband while he studied. And what if he does become that doctor or lawyer or business man, and what if he decides he wants to leave. It’s a waste, and you have wasted your time and money and maybe even your studies because he might tell you (‘ I will be making so much you won’t have to work’). Trust me I was told that one time from someone and I believed it 🤡.

It’s nothing.

It’s just potential, this ain’t build a man. I remember in my high pick me peasant days (currently a lady in waiting), I would fall over for these law boys and business boys parading the library with their textbooks. nope, not any more. It’s just potential, and guess who else has potential. Me , I fall in love with me because that’s the only person I can build
