Ladies… hear me out a sec because I need to rant.

I recently got a second job which I don’t plan on doing for longer than a few months. It’s pretty easy, good location etc, nice people.

There’s some attractive guys that work there but honestly I’m not interested, I’m focussed on my own growth and development at the moment. However, I wouldn’t date this one guy (X) even if I was open to it:

  • he’s younger than me (dealbreaker for me)
  • he’s unvaxxed (again, dealbreaker)
  • he legally changed his name (think the equivalent of you / me changing our name from… let’s say Claire, to Aphrodite - a name that is literally the goddess for sexual pleasure) - I respect his decision but equally choose not to be attracted to him because of it.

He has definitely been flirting with me on a few shifts, fine, I can deal with that. Not the end of the world. But then he called me babes a few times - and I promptly shut that down.

I then mentioned this to another co worker (Y) who basically said… yeah, he fancies you. X asked Y what he thought of me, to suss out whether Y liked me, and then asked Y to wingman him because Y and I work together occasionally.

This was several days ago. I’ve now had another shift with X, who was respectful but flirtatious, and then I get a message from him when I’m travelling home to check I’m getting home okay, but also to share with me the link to a rap song that basically sings about wanting this girl you don’t have and how you can’t stop thinking about her.

Sigh. Me of three years ago would have been thrilled to receive such attention. Now, I’m just… bored? I apologise if this post is a bit all over the place, I am just a bit done with this situation. I plan on shutting down any romantic opportunity asap and will look to leave the job in three months.

Can anyone else relate to low effort, thinly veiled poor attempts to communicate from a man? I’m also proud of myself from having raised my standards [from the bare minimum] to actually having expectations, requirements and standards. Thanks for reading queens :)
