I was permanently banned from a forum for suggesting to a guy that he had no obligation to continue to support his ex's kid (that was not biologically his) after they broke up.

The overwhelming majority of posters were encouraging him to "do the right thing" and continue to give her his money to raise someone else's kid. She wasn't even an ex-wife, just some single mother he'd made the mistake of moving into his house for a few years.
