Video

Summary Video describes why guys today should just "be a man" and get married already, citing financial gains as an incentive.

Body Admittedly not a whole lot new to see here, I think most of us have gotten the memo by now: marriage 2.0 = not a good deal for men.

What's interesting to me is the main argument being made is that your financial well being stands to improve from marriage 2.0! This of course is only true if you don't end up divorced and paying alimony/child support... but statistics on those topics were omitted.

Ignoring that colossal caveat, let's look at the main point stated in the video.

Married men make more money.

Of course this is what we should expect, there's more mouths to feed, more shopping sprees to fund.

However what the video doesn't mention is the amount of disposable or un-budgeted income. If I'm making 100k a year as opposed to 80k, but my expenses shoot up from 60% of my income to 80% my purchasing power actually decreased.

There's plenty more that could be picked at, but I don't want to keep beating a dead horse for too much longer.

All in all the video did put a smile on my face. It has more dislikes and the comments are showing that men are slowly waking up to the realities of marriage nowadays.

Lessons Learned The media and society want you to get married. They will shame you, tell you it's in your best interest, and pretend that we don't have divorce rates coupled with alimony/child support laws that will make your head spin.
