As early as 2007, both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN strongly advised to male circumcision: as prevention against AIDS, penile cancer, and cervical cancer. Because the latter is caused by a contaminated male penis.

Possible factual concerns aside, I find the final assertion disconcerting. The suggestion that that genesis of an entire disease is a "contaminated male penis" shows a lot of hate. That combined with the description of cervical cancer as "caused by a contaminated male penis" tells me that the author simply can't view an issue that effects men independently of women's interests.

I didn't read the whole article, but I think this title is a bit misleading. Genital Mutilation and Circumcision are two separate things.

Circumcision at birth I agree breaches human rights to a certain degree as the baby cannot disagree, however at that age it is generally easier and less prone to complications later in life.

As someone who was circumcised at birth, I can honestly say I'm glad. The claims that it makes sex less sensitive and less attractive, I personally believe are false. I also am a strongly for my circumcision as the personal hygiene benefits and knowledge that stretching or breaking the foreskin during sex are not issues for me.

While I don't believe that circumcision should be banned, I don't think it should be classed as "Genital Mutilation", as there are definitely pros (as well as cons) towards it. If a male chooses to do this procedure I don't think it should be against the law, similarly I believe that some consideration for the ease/lack of complications doing it early should be considered. I know for a fact I may be against having it cut when I was old enough to choose myself, simply due to the thought of having anything down there cut be a scary thought. But since I don't even remember it and have had zero complications throughout my life, I am happy with the results.

I am cut (its rare practice in my country), and don't feel myself "mutilated" in any way. If the male circumcision would involve cutting of glans penis, it could be called mutilation. But come on, ugly foreskin?
