Instead, we get them (and their useful idiots such as Fraudtrelle) appearing on Muslim TV denouncing the 'online misogyny' that opressed middle-class white girls such as Rebecca Watson 'suffer'.

No-one likes the Taleban, but their oppression of women has been overplayed. After all, men wearing the salwar kameez and not shaving was just as compulsory as women wearing the burqa. Women were forbidden from being educated with men or boys, a de facto ban on education altogether, but men, even young boys, were forcibly conscripted into the Taleban military forces, and the forces of their enemies in the Northern Alliance.

The only good thing that can be said about the Taleban's treatment of men is that they originally gained power and popular support in Afghanistan by rescuing young boys from sexual slavery to the local warlords, a practice known as bachar bazi, that and their occasionally hostile attitude to the opiate trade.

Regarding "the equal education of all girls and women"

I've seen lots of other studies saying the same thing: college educated women (especially masters+) end up leaving full-time work when the baby comes. In some fields (MBA is one), it's as high as 75% of the women not working full-time 10-15 years after graduation. The men, of course, end up being much more likely to work full-time. There's several reasons that drive this and I feel that quite a few of them are biologically driven. The issue comes down to ROI on spending the money on college (personally, family, and as a society). There comes a point where the opportunity cost of "diversity" becomes too expensive to bear. We are facing it in the medical field currently, and it would be interesting to calculate the cost for other fields.

I think its safe to say that most men's rights activists are against such acts. I personally encourage equal rights more than I do men's rights. Don't get me wrong, I'll hold a door open, or fight for a woman to be able to walk around showing her skin, but I would expect the same to be done for me.

Well as someone whom has been anti-feminist since prior to 9-11, I actually had the opportunity to investigate the various claims feminists made about the Taliban before all hell broke lose. Most of what the feminists said was a pack of lies, same as feminists lie about everything. Specifically the stuff about the Taliban being against girls education was bullshit.

At the time you could find pictures of girls schools on line, which the Taliban had set up in conjunction with the SCA (Swedish Committee for Afghanistan).

Since that time I've taken this Taliban hate women's education meme as a good tip off of a total bullshit propaganda story issued either by the feminists themselves or by the US government or both.

And the article is met with disbelief by me too. The story itself seems unlikely (a gunman can't kill a 14 year old girl at close quarters? really?) but the politics is obviously a lie. Even based on the incredibly slanted story it is clear that any resistance movement would have a far better reason to attack this girl than her views on education. She was/is a collaborationist with the occupying power. She was publishing stuff for the BBC, and perhaps other relationships with Western occupying powers. In WW2 someone like that would have been shot as a traitor, but the Western perspective in this matter of course is to pretend that Afghanistan was not invaded and is not now under occupation by a foreign military.

Someone on the Western side of things decided to put this girl in the crosshairs by getting her parents to agree to this sort of scheme even knowing the obvious danger of being a collaborationist in wartime. It wouldn't surprise me if that was done in the deliberate hope that the girl might end up dead in a manner that could be exploited for further political gain. But one thing's for sure. A fourteen year old girl in Pakistan doesn't "just happen" to end up working for the BBC, and we are not hearing anything about that side of the story at all.
