As much as I like what you are doing I think you did it wrong. Please take these two suggestions to heart.

When trying to talk with women about anything, do not say A SINGLE THING that can be misrepresented as misogynist. Your example of the fallacy will be used by women to represent you as a sexist and therefore dismiss your comments. Think more carefully about what you say.

You are too verbose. Twitter has a character limit for a reason. Stick to it and I think you will have a larger effect. Save the rants for your blog.

Edit: I should say that your example was significantly less offensive than hers but you are a man and she is a woman. She can say things that you can't. If you want to change this sexism you will probably need to play by the rules for a little bit.

I wan to address some of the general concerns made about this exchange.

The first claim that was generally made was "this was misogynistic", or "this was a low blow". Well, my argument was irrational and misogynistic, yes. That was precisely the point. I wanted to show how sexist and illogical her argument was by using it against her. I called her ugly, so what? She called me stupid. I don't care about hurting her feelings. Churchill would have done the same. I've read below that "she is a woman and can say things that you can't". Excuse me, but what the fuck is the point of this subreddit other than to discredit that claim. I could have been less abrasive, sure, but there's no amount of logic I can use to get to this woman, so instead I will insult her intelligence using her looks as a premise for my argument. 2 birds with 1 stone. I'm not trying to debate her. I'm trying to insult her.
The next general claim was "this is twitter, you should have done it in one tweet". I tried as hard as I could, but I simply could not make my point in 140 characters. I frankly don't care that it went over the limit, so long as it made my point. These are minor things about "appropriateness" of "twitterquette". I guess it went to far, so yeah, I apologize. I don't think it's that important, though.
Finally, a common claim was "CNN isn't unbiased, why would you say that". You're exactly right. What I should have said was that they are a relatively unbiased news organization. Relative to MSNBC or FOX News, they are right down the middle.

Again, my original intent was to tell CNN, in the only way I could, that I'm not going to watch/read them anymore so long as they publish this shit. I was surprised it warranted a response. I exposed their sexism by showing, in a personal way, just how bad and irrational sexism can be. My response was not ad hominem. That is, I did not say "well, you're ugly, so the argument is bad". Rather, I just slipped a personal attack in simply because I could, in the context of a logical argument.

So I read the article and to sum up it is really just a list of men who had affairs? Followed by the author's denunciation that all men are stupid because they have affairs?

Why does this need to be a news article? The affairs were already published and dealt with, bringing it up again serves no purpose.

A desire for sex, whether it be with prostitutes, a spouse, or any significant other does not imply stupidity. I do not deny that these affairs were highly embarrassing and ill-advised but they are not stupid.
