I just saw this story and it upset me a great deal:

A woman was in her home and happen to have a ring camera. A man pretend to be interested in her number (and her) approaches her front door. *It should be noted he has done this before* Lucky she did not open the door, the man planned on attacking her and stealing her phone. This woman goes to the police and tells her (front desk worker) about the ordeal. She replied rudely there is nothing she or the police could do. Even though she has footage of him approaching her home more than once.

I told people here before and they got testy black women are not protected in this country even more than any other race of woman. When the woman went to report a LVW (front desk worker at police station) showed no sort of care for this woman's well-being. But to make matters worse a LVM interviewed the stalker, and laughed as he told him his plan to commit robbery on this woman.

  • More than four in ten Black women experience physical violence from an intimate partner during their lifetimes. White women, Latinas, and Asian/Pacific Islander women report lower rates.
  • Black women also experience significantly higher rates of psychological abuse—including humiliation, insults, name-calling, and coercive control—than do women overall.
  • Sexual violence affects Black women at high rates. More than 20 percent of Black women are raped during their lifetimes—a higher share than among women overall.
  • Black women face a particularly high risk of being killed at the hands of a man. A 2015 Violence Policy Center study finds that Black women were two and a half times more likely to be murdered by men than their White counterparts. More than nine in ten Black female victims knew their killers.

So black women be careful, in many cases nobody will care for your safety. And YES THIS IS AT A HIGHER RATE THAN EVERYONE ELSE. So when I come here and say police care about us even less please do not argue with me, when we are in more danger please do not attest the opposite, when I say you have a privilege please accept it.

  1. Never open your door to a stranger. If you have a roommate call them to open the door themselves. Get a camera for your door if you live alone, if you do not know the face don't open the door.
  2. Be careful in the way you reject men, they take it horribly. Make sure you are in a public place, surrounded by people.
  3. Record all ordeals with men if they approach you. LVM and NVM have no problem with hitting you, and you need proof because often women (specifically black women) will not be believed if they do not have proof.
  4. Be careful on who you tell approach for help. A fellow woman in some cases will not care either.
  5. Keep a track record of everything if you are being stalked.
  6. If you can get a license to carry if it comes down to you and the average man you may not (most likely will not) be able to overpower him if he attacks you. You need protection!! Get pepper spray, a taser(if it is legal in your state), and protection tools. I saw one that was a knife but looked like a lipstick. I also know this sounds odd, but get a loud whistle to signal if you are in danger.
  7. And lastly always be on the lookout.

Edit: It should also be noted this man has stalked other black women. One which he stole her number from an application from her place of employment.
