I really don’t think it is good for people to follow other people’s daily activities or their filtered images on the daily it creates a false sense of reality. This isn’t normal behavior, it’s not something that was even available for most of us <5 years ago. I decided to mute almost all of the girls who I felt like were basically Thirst trapping on my IG wall/video feed and I have found the experience to be much more mentally healthy. I have cleared space to see actual friends photos of sporting events, vacations, families, and announcements. I can always look them up if I am curious to see what they are looking like/ see what they are up to, but quite frankly, they are out of site and out of mind. They don’t think about me, respectfully, I don’t need to be thinking about them. I don’t have any dislike towards them, I just flat out don’t need that in my life. The world has a much more realistic look when these people’s behavior is eliminated from your Facebook feed. Their addiction to attention does not need to be your job to feed, and I feel like this behavior might be hurting people’s clarity in relationships and goals.
