Very unusual
The man was serving a woman because another woman ordered him ("femdom" fantasy)
She never feared this man (how so?)
"Sisterhood" (smells like teenager feminism)

Of course I can't be sure, but I'd bet $100 it's as fake as their idea of equality. These kind of stories are not uncommon.

I just see this as one more instance of people going out of their way to ignore the good that men do in this world just so we can levy more praise on women.

Despite the fact that all the wife did was point out that the woman was sitting alone at the bus stop, I don’t know how she goes and completely ignores the fact that a man was the one who did literally all of the work and was the only one putting themselves at risk for her safety. I mean, she said herself that she’s never even seen this woman. The woman didn’t even bother to come out and help stand guard. Because she knew her husband could take that beating for her

It’s just one more instance of media, or people in general, doing their best to never have to give the credit to a man if there’s a way to praise women for it.

On the opposite side, I remember a post from when Texas passed that anti-abortion bill, and all people wanted to talk about was that those evil old white men were trying to patrol women’s bodies, ignoring completely be 10 or 11 women that also voted in favor of banning abortion. Anything to either make men look evil or not give them credit for the things they do to help others.

Thoughts? Am I over reacting here? Or does this seem as shitty to y’all as it does to me?

Story sounds a bit r/thathappened. It seems improbable behavior by both the man and the "sister", and wouldn't having a strange man hang around the bus-stop for no apparent reason be more likely to cause anxiety?

I think it could be a contrived anecdote designed to rub men's faces in the dirt.

Jeez, this is pure depression fuel. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to read that and not feel like whatever we do, it will always be futile because it will go unnoticed. Not that I'm saying its about getting recognition or anything...just that it would be nice once in a while.

I think the implication here is that on his own a man might not have noticed the woman waiting alone and thought that it was a problem until his wife pointed out the problem. Idk if that’s true but I can understand where the woman in the OP is coming from.

That said erasing the husbands actual act of service is kinda eww.

What if he said nothing of his wife and just said he waits with her to make sure she is okay on his own volition? It would have a completely different interpretation.

I suspect she might not believe him at face value at all, and figure he is stalking her and creepily trying to get close to her with this knight in shining armor act. It wouldn’t be his moral agency that is causing him to do this, but his sexual agency faking morality to get access to her.

Opening with “my wife made me do it” is something he has to do to avoid the ominous connotation he probably knew it would take on, so he immediately gives his wife full credit for his moral agency, because he probably figured that she might doubt that’s even a thing for men.
