Young and old, who did nothing wrong, forced to go to war. When I was there in 2015, they were collecting warm clothes for the soldiers. Some soldiers did not even have gas to power their generators. Sure the US military sends literally tons of over priced arms, but what about warm dry clothes, tents, body bags. And the Russian soldiers may be better equipped, but they also do not want to be there.

Throughout history, evolutionary competition between societies has been military, men risked their lives in war, and women risked their lives in child birth. At least in the old days, those who did well at war were rewarded with the spoils of war. Now they get nothing, and often are even denied good medical and psychological care.

I also feel for the Russian soldiers. They would also all rather go home, and have the money spent on services for the public. Only a very few men benefit from such wars. The rest of us, have to serve and risk our lives for, may I say it, "the patriarchy".
