Insane double standard isn't it. I've seen countless men mock women for buying high quality good stuff.

Women that cook are housewives, men that cook are chefs. Women that clean up are doing "what they're supposed to do", men that clean up are "helpful, amazing". Women in research are assumed to be subordinates, men in research are assumed to be leaders. Double standards everywhere.

It's funny because in my eyes the Birkin is losing its social value recently. The extreme exclusivity is a huge part of the bag's appeal, but now it seems like every moron with money has one if not multiple. Interesting that men now give a shit, maybe the male lv essence just seeps into everything they touch lol.

Also, the woman who inspired the bag was complaining about not having a practical bag for all of her things and found that the Birkin didn't actually meet those needs. The bag isn't all that practical, that's not the point really. Why are men so dumb.

I think the title of this post says it all. We buy expensive bags and it's frivolity, men do it and suddenly it's iNvEsTiNg. Gotta love how they're already changing the Birkin to "cater to masculine tastes" as well. 🙄
