Equality looks like oppression when you're used to privilege. What some of us men bemoan as high standards is nothing more than women putting forth effort and dedication and expecting men to do the same. On the other hand some men expect women to be more faithful, less promiscuous, more forgiving, more self-sacrificing, more involved with domestic duties and raising children (despite the fact that women are working and even outearning men).

To men this looks like pickiness by women because of so many generations past in which women's sexuality was restricted, her choices dictated to her by the patriarchy.

There is no choice but to adapt, to "publish or perish" as it were. To rise to the occasion.

Even on one of the most recent posts there is this deluded fantasy that men who aren't even brave enough to talk to a woman will foment some kind of authoritarian fundamentalist revolution. The entire premise is thus laughable and one would hope that these men would simply use that apparent rage and energy toward improving their lot in life rather than childishly throw wishful temper tantrums about overthrowing the gameboard when they ultimately lack even the minimal fortitude required to do so.
