Creating a family is creating an economic entity with responsibilities.

If you can't trust your partner then don't create the entity.

Your wealth is going to be risked by the day to day decisions being made in the family. Your mental health will be affected by the decisions made within the family.

For the most part, there's very little incentive to find a partner whose actually worth being a partner in my mind. Even if you've known the person for years it's still difficult to judge how things will go when the rubber hits the road.

If you can't make a traditional mariage work in the US, your chances of doing that in a foreign country is likely very slim. Cultures may differ, but the social dynamics between men and women is the same everywhere.
In fact, all you are doing is opening yourself up to being screwed over in entirely new and unexpected ways. For example: getting kicked out of a country on a false accusation and losing complete access to your children. Or finding yourself trapped in a foreign country never ever being able to leave until you've paid all your child support.

Remember, many of the concepts of child support and alimony in Western countries are hold overs from a time when we were much more traditional. So you'll either find very progressive laws drawn up by feminists that favor women, or be stuck with very traditional laws that protect women.

If you want a traditional family life, you will have to accept the risk that you will lose half or even more of your wealth. So just make sure to acquire twice as much wealth as you need before you sleep with anyone. /s

If you are still serious about moving, first find out where you can move to. Unless you are very wealthy or have a highly desirable skillset, you'll find your options are actually very limited.

As for Japan: I highly recommend it as a visitor. It's almost like paradise. However, I wouldn't want to live there long term. Seems like hell.

You are worried about the court taking children in a divorce unjustly? A more progressive country with better gender equality could work since you would expect the court to be unbiased and the chance to claim a discrimination lawsuit if the decision for who gets to keep the kids is based on unfair judgment of gender.

Don’t expect her to never divorce you, that’s outside of your control. But I think your goal right now is to read about the divorce laws in different countries and then ask on forums or reach out to people of those countries how the state of it is really.

Not sure on the legality but if you work out a private bank arrangement and keep all your finances and financial information separate from her. She would never know what you had squirreled away. Different options would even allow for investment. But there would be risks and liability limitations.
