r/men's rights is the complete opposite community of this. Both of you are constantly arguing. I propose that every one in a while, every single member of each subreddit will visit the other one, no matter what. You don't have to agree, but you would listen and consider a opposing opinion, unbiased.

I used to participate in a gender issue forum where both feminists and MRAs participated.

On Reddit, the MRA forum allows feminists, but the major feminist sub censors any information not pro-feminist agenda. It’s simply an echo chamber of feminist propaganda with little to be learned.

There is a FeMra sub but it’s not incredibly active and feminists don’t last long because they get called on their misinformation.

I agree with the sentiment behind your post, but like others I don't think we're necessarily the ones not paying attention, or not giving the other side a chance to talk.

I'm not writing this to be accusatory, it's not my purpose to inflame and cause drama, but the women who are interested in listening are often in subs like this one, talking directly with us. I've seen women talking about gaining new perspectives, I've seen women saying they'll try to refrain from using certain words in future, I've seen women empathising. These women who are willing to engage in a genuine dialogue are here, with us, and we (or at least I, and many others here) attempt to reciprocate the openness and consideration.

Certain other groups, however, simply stonewall and firehose. They're not interested in dialogue or compromise, they're not interested in sharing experiences back and forth, they simply demand a one-way stream of empathy, understanding, and consideration that is not reciprocated. Often with a heaping pile of scorn.

What's really useful to give perspective here is that the sub you're suggestion, 2XC, has an auto-ban system based on where you post, not on what you say in their sub, but for being active elsewhere. I'm assuming in here for example. You might want to check if you've been auto-banned for this post.

This is a very good idea and I applaud u/Longjumping-Thing227's initiative.

I regularly read subreddits with which I disagree - part of the reason I'm posting on r/mensrights is because I too often see extremism here that I don't agree with. I'm here to inject a big dose of moderation and I get the impression that's what you're trying to do too.

That's a very good thing.

It's my observation that a lot of the vitriol and unpleasantness in all this arises from what are basically semantic arguments. I also think that sometimes people (on both sides of the issue) look for the semantic argument - in effect deliberately mischaracterise what other people are saying. I think sometimes they do that because it gets them approval on reddit and other social media platforms.

The solution to this is dialogue and currently there isn't any. That's very bad. Extremely bad. For everyone. This whole thing is in a vicious circle to more and more radicalisation and unpleasantness.

I would support the creation of some sort of platform with carefully-enforced rules and possibly vetted members where we could discuss these things. I suspect doing it via voice chat would work better as it's harder to misinterpret people.

I'm more than happy to get involved in any initiative to do that.
