I call my husband a nickname that I don't want to say here on the off chance it could be used as doxxing fodder, but it's basically a mispronunciation of his real name that I said one time before we were dating when I was drunk. He calls me a nickname based on my real name as well. We don't really use normal pet names like babe or whatever, but nicknames more specific to us.

I call him Big Papi (he's saved in my phone as this), J (first initial), bebe, papas (Spanish for potatoes), mi amor, baby love, and then whenever dumbass things that pop into my head whenever I'm feeling silly and affectionate. These are generally all specific to him because I haven't dated any other naturalized citizens from Mexico, and a few of them like the potato are inside jokes.

He calls me Mami or Mamirami, bebe, baby girl, chicita, carnitas (inside joke that goes with the potato), mi amor, princess, and probably others.

The last ex / current friend mostly " Lady" which got started because she's a feminist with a pet peeve of grown women being called girls. Unfortunately replacing "girl" with " woman" in a lot of common language sounds condescending. So her pet peeve created this habit after enough fuckups where I'd grin and say lady, in obvious replacement of girl.

The newest is usually Hot momma because I think the first thing she ever said to me that wasn't rude was " I'm a hot mom" in response to my t-shirt " I love hot moms".

She has also somewhat inherited lady, as have, well...most women I interact with just because of me feeling it is indeed better than girl, and more endearing than their names.

My ex called me black magic sometimes joking sometimes out of spite because she had a dream in which I took up sex work without consulting her. It was a name I threw out in a joking response. Definitely regretted that one 🤦🏾‍♂️

I call my boyfriend babe/baby, honey, sweetie, bubby, and occasionally daddy just to tease him. He also eats a lot so I like to call him tubby lol. And this isn’t really a nickname but whenever I say “my man” he smiles and blushes a little bit so I use that a lot.

He calls me babe/baby/babygirl, darling, princess, or my favorite which is bunny.

My ex and I called each other "Mine" during our little I love you routine. Tried pet names but they didn't stick because I never use anyone's name to get their attention.

When we talk to the dog he calls me the nice lady and he’s papa. As in “ask the nice lady to take you out”

At this point in my life I don't even have a real name anymore...

My bf calls me gorgeous, babe, love and kitten. Because we met online on twitch most people we know only know me by my nickname so everyone calls me Lysa.

My mom calls me mouse and my step dad calls me sparrow. My boss used to call me Schatz.

I call my bf handsome, love, babe and nugget.

Sometimes in a joking/teasing way we call each other "pima" which just stands for pain in my ass 😂

It almost makes me cringe now hearing my real name because I'm not used to it anymore.

No, I hate being called by any name but the one written on my identification.

Now, I will use nicknames for others given that someone else beside me is also using the so called nickname. Example: my father in law had a nickname for my husband, I will use it when I wish to express “endearment” or when I initiate some flirting - I made a little poem - his name is Luke, so:

Will thee

The first half I’ve used for past relationships. Anything past “my love” is specific to my current relationship.

Past relationships may have had one or two of their own as well
