I think of divorce as a hopeful thing...hopeful that you can move on and get better, whatever that means. The worst part has been the trying to make it work by just accepting the suffering. That's a hopeless thing, and I've done it for 13 years now.

Congrats man! This is a new beginning and a better beginning. Look at it this way, you are so much wiser and smarter for going through that past relationship and a divorce. It’s a learning experience. You got unlucky and got a ex that wasn’t there for you etc. It happens.

Can relate. 16 years feeling like a servant and roommate rather than a husband. When I finally got word from my attorney that the court had approved the judgment, I was kind of emotionless. Not happy, not sad. Just kind of matter-of-fact.

Congratulations. My sock day was 11/14 and like you said. Kind of neutral, wasn't happy, lots of resignation. I also filed, I don't know your reasons but whatever they were, you are now free. Enjoy the peace and good luck on the next stage of your journey.

12 years together, 8 years married, same boat. I feel like I tried every single day to make the same loving, safe marriage you're describing work. I have no clue how I'm going to feel when this is all over, but I am excited to know there's at least a light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck to y’all. Been going through it officially for 1 1/2 years. Been married now 6. I’d love to just post every hateful email and communication I still get 10-20 times a day. Be great if the world could see this crazy shit. I’d love to just post every thing I get. Maybe get advice, other than call the police. That didn’t work out. I’m not perfect but people need to move on and not have to be threatened, demeaned, and harassed every day. It would be a daily soap opera to tune into.
