This might be an old opinion. I’m not saying it’s okay to get someone extremely drunk to sleep with them, and I’m not saying men don’t use alcohol to act predatory sometimes and that we shouldn’t call men out for this. And obviously you can’t have sex with someone if they’re literally too drunk to consent—as in, literally passed out or can’t communicate. But I don’t understand this idea that they have (especially in the universities) that if a women wants to have sex when she’s drunk and then changes her mind the next day, once she’s sobered up, it’s suddenly the guy’s fault and he’s labeled a predator. My point is that, legally speaking, you’re responsible for your own actions whether or not you’re drunk. Guys can’t go out and rape somebody and then claim the next day, “Aw, I take it back, I was drunk when I did that!” Your actions are your own. And the fact that there’s no reasonable way to tell exactly how many drinks someone has had makes it impossible to objectively decide if someone is too drunk. More often then not, these vaguely worded laws place the blame on the guy by default when it goes to court, when he might’ve been just as drunk.

Once again, you should be able to make the call on your own of whether someone is too drunk; the law should not be involved if both people, while they’re drunk, are down to clown. As far as involuntarily drugging someone, no, obviously that is not okay, it’s illegal anyway to give drugs to someone without their consent. It’s a very different thing than two people deciding to get drunk and making a mistake.
