My recommendation is to employ the same perseverance many faced with bias and discrimination throughout history have used. It won't help you to give up. No it's not fair that it's like this, but if your born in the west it's quite likely you're already coming out ahead of the majority of humanity both globally and historically.

Doesn't mean you have it easy, you say there is no place in society for you. Then make a place for yourself. Find an independant field where people see your personality and work ethic over your sex. Trade is a great field to go into right now. So are many other self employed professions.

What is it you enjoy doing? Start from there and work out how to get paid for it. Then work out how you'd get there.

I'm not looking forward to entering the workplace (I'll be entering a male-dominated field or I thought). It's disheartening to think I won't get selected for the job because they have to fill a quota for women. Rather than select for skill, talent and hard work.

Yeah, it's really hard not to be demoralized.

Girls outperform boys in every level of education, yet they still receive preferential treatment, and receive higher grades than boys for the same work.

Women outnumber men at colleges, yet there remain loads of women-only scholarships.

Young women are earning more money than young men, and yet people harp on about the supposed wage gap, despite the opposite rapidly becoming true.

It's one thing when feminists convince society that men are privileged in subconscious ways, when you are personally convinced that it's women who are privileged in subconscious ways. But when it becomes objective, verifiable stuff? It's difficult to sit with that. There are many ways in which women have overtaken men in objective, observable ways, and yet still society persists in lifting women up above men.

Women are objectively privileged over men, and yet they receive more and more advantages in the name of "equality". It's bonkers.

I feel similar but with more of the social life piece, including romantic stuff. I feel that whatever I do it’ll be misconstrued or misunderstood and people will think I’m weird

Don't fall victim to a "woe is me" complex. These things make success more difficult but you can still be successful. Don't you see successful men out in the world? It's not impossible, but it is if you give up before you get started.

That's capitalism with postmodernism. This system reduces you to an atomized, isolated individual that is in competition with everyone else. Everything is a challenge, everywhere you have to be special, even in completely insignificant areas (best summarized with the contract card scene in American psycho). To feel everything and everyone is against you is quite normal, because technically it is, as long we uphold this system.

Some fields have no apparent gender majority. Maybe look into a career field that's relatively gender neutral. I have worked in the restaurant industry (front of house) as both a female and now (trans) male. I have never felt like my gender mattered or that there was a favorable gender. Ofc this will vary by restaurant and hiring managers but in general the front of restaurants seem pretty gender neutral (back of house is usually male dominated but I don't feel like women are usually hired just to pad stats since it's a performance based job).

I'm not sure your logic holds up. If it's a male dominated field, then obviously men have no issue with getting jobs in that field. If you're applying for a female dominated field, then your gender would help you stand out from the crowd perhaps.

I'm also not sure I agree with the fact that women are "clearly" the more privileged sex. There's a lot of issues where men are overlooked, but the job market is not one of those. Virtually every statistic confirms that we have the privilege in this situation and a bit of affirmative action won't truly negate that.

Could you let us know what work you want to be going in to and I'm sure we'd be happy to give you some advice and pointers.

I work for Advance Auto Parts. If you can pass a drug test, go apply there. All the stores, all the DC are hiring, for every brand the company owns. This company hires based on merit, and they hire adults.

Find a circle of friends to hang out with IRL. Who knows, you may also make some female friends who get it. Modern day apps and reddit are notoriously for feeding you a curated feed of bad news. The reality out there is actually better once you talk to people.
