"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

So...

Sexual assault and criminal intimidation (threatening someone's job to cover up a crime)?

[–]TheSnesLord 22 points23 points24 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's okay if women do it to men. Applauded, praised and celebrated in fact.

[–]sipsagoon 362 points363 points364 points 3 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

I wonder if they'll use this to cancel Velma, so they don't have to admit that it's trash.

[–]LordJiraiya 177 points178 points179 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Even progressives hate the show. It’s universally hated.

[–]Futureman999 55 points56 points57 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm subscribed there at the moment, and they sent me an email heads up it was premiering.

I'm absolutely baffled at their algorithm's Complete and Total Inability to figure out what shows to recommend, based on my watch history.

[–]butt__dart 55 points56 points57 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I hate that. If you're gonna steal all my data, at least have the goddamn common courtesy to use it to recommend things I might actually enjoy.

[–]AmphoraExplorer 36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They override the algo to boost new shows I think. It’s more important to get your new shows traction and word of mouth than avoiding annoying people

[–]Acousmetre78 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. Sometimes they want to force something down your throat like boy bands in the 2000’s.

[–]NibblyPig 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You think recommendations are based on what you'd enjoy the most. Heh.

Just like everything else, they're based on what they want to push to their audience the most. You might not want to watch it, but they want you to know it exists.

[–]Dodgy_Bob_McMayday 22 points23 points24 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's so bad it's like a parody of "woke" media.

[–]comfortablesorrow 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm as liberal as they come and believe I'm a progressive... to a point. That being said...

It's trash. A heaping, steaming pile of hideous television excrement.

[–]TheSnesLord 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only because some of the material goes against their ideology. They love the man-hating and small d**k jokes though.

[–]TheSnesLord 34 points35 points36 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Cancel Mindy Kaling as well, she's trash. More accurately, trash who SHs and SAs men.

[–]yanquideportado 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Spell some words out, this reads like military jargon

[–]No-Worldliness-3741 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It feels like satire.

[–]sipsagoon 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It very well could be intended as satire. The problem is that extremists cannot do good satire because they're so out of touch. It's why Late Night shows became so mediocre when the Trump started rotting their brains with TDS.

[–]No-Worldliness-3741 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Help out me out, what's TDS?

[–]sipsagoon 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Trump Derangement Syndrome. A colloquial term for the irrational anti position of anything Trump says, supports or adjacent.

[–]niko_xf 382 points383 points384 points 3 years ago* (16 children) | Copy Link

She basically admits doing the same thing that a plethora of men were cancelled for, with no repercussions. And she still keeps virtue signaling and talking men down. Hollywood is a gathering place of the filth of the world.

[–]TheSnesLord 211 points212 points213 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

It's like how Cardi B admitted to drugging and robbing men in her stripper days. Which of course also suggests that there will have been a lot of SA on men from her, due to the drugging which will result in non-consent from the men. She won't and will never get any comeuppance.

[–]nemodigital 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Her tired excuse was that she had to do that to "survive " while she was also raking in that stripper cash.

[–]WolfShaman 50 points51 points52 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Don't get me wrong, she should be canceled. However, no one has come forward to press charges, so nothing can really be done about it.

[–]jjj2576 97 points98 points99 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I feel like if this post had swapped gender roles in a different sub, folks would accuse you of vIcTiM bLaMiNg.

[–]WolfShaman 46 points47 points48 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I mean, I've seen people say that she was the real victim in all of it. Some people will do whatever mental gymnastics they have to, to maintain their narrative.

[–]ForeignSmell 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do blame the victim if they don’t come forward. How will police know a crime has been committed if no crime is reported. At the same time for cardi b case I know there is like hood justice where no body snitch and they handle it on their own. Highly doubt that happen tho.

[–]TheSnesLord 31 points32 points33 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

However, no one has come forward to press charges, so nothing can really be done about it.

Even if a man or multiple men came forward to press charges, the feminists will still find a way to defend Cardi B. The men will likely be laughed off. Remember, Cardi B is seen as the "victim" here.

Now IF it were a woman who Cardi B SA'd, and she came forward to press charges then maybe you'll see some comeuppance.

[–]Oksamis 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Aren’t there certain crimes the state can prosecute for? Even when the victims don’t want to charge?

[–]WolfShaman 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm not sure, so I don't want to speculate. But in the US, do you really think anyone is willing to prosecute: A. a famous, B. black, C. woman?

The backlash would end multiple careers, and boost the defendants to the moon.

[–]Oksamis 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Weren’t they saying the same thing about Amber at some point? She’s (was?) two of those three things

[–]WolfShaman 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are 3 major differences: race, evidence, and complainant.

I hate that I feel like I'm making it about race, but it does have an impact here.

There's a lot of evidence against AH, including hard evidence. If it had been a he-said/she-said, JD would have been fucked 12 ways to Sunday.

And there was a complainant (JD) that actively worked to bring the case to light.

And I'm not sure if you've seen, but there are still people out there saying AH did nothing wrong and that JD is a lying asshole. There are people still boycotting anything JD does, while calling for AH to be able to work more.

[–]brygphilomena 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Almost all crimes the state can prosecute whether or not the victim wants it to occur. The criminal case is the state vs the defendant. Not the victim vs the defendant.

Whether a prosecutor would want to pursue a case with an unwilling victim will depend on whether there is sufficient evidence to obtain a conviction without the victims testimony or assistance.

Back in 2016, Mindy Kaling admitted to the kissing scene when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. As reported by Fandom Wire...

and re-reported by koimoi and then re-reported on Twitter.

Or you can watch the clip on Youtube to get the context. Conan gave her a comedy cue along the lines of "Both you and I, Mindy, are plain people with power over beautiful people. Do you ever take advantage?", and they run with it for a couple of minutes.

Over time, though, some of the things that she would eventually go on to disclose – and flaunt – while appearing in the film started to tarnish the fandom for this budding comic.

I've only seen her as Kelly Kapoor in The Office (which she was a writer on, so I assume she had some influence in writing her own character). Is her whole schtick based on middle school resentments + racial resentments - (1) why can't I be a tall blonde cheerleader who dates the tall blonde quarterback, (2) I hate tall blonde cheerleaders and quarterbacks, (3) I've got power over tall blonde cheerleader and quarterback types.

[–]Redscorpio-DR 30 points31 points32 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Waiting for that one feminist to justify this in the comment section lol

[–]Futureman999 53 points54 points55 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

“Yeah, and when I [kiss with tongue] on the show now, it’s like the worse kind of s*xual harassment because I’m like the boss. And they’re scared to complain because I’ll fire them.”

Don't worry, she won't get cancelled. She's double word score on diversity, and she knows it.

Definitely knows how to read a room and calculate what she can get away with in current year

Heard about this a lot this week. And its crazy that feminists dont see there being the same evil they say they are fighting.

But it's a simple saying all rights for me but none for thee. They dont even live by the standards that say the demanding of others the biggest hypocrites. It's so easy to see that what they say dont mean shit cause their own actions, time, and time show that there lies.

Its just sad that people still believe in the feminists movement is better for women. It's just making girls try and be man. And being surprised, there not being seen as great partner's. Acting like a man makes you be seen as a man.

And guys that act in a feminine way also dont get seen by girls.

You can be whatever you want, but people like and are drawn to what they like.

No shameing language will ever change that. And no body postive movement. Or boss babe shit will change. What genders by large are drawn to. Why people are less happy then ever. And its sad

[–]TheSnesLord 43 points44 points45 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Tell anyone, and you’re fired."

She didn't need to threaten the producers and it wouldn't have been a problem if the incident leaked out.

Because after all, women are praised and celebrated for SA'ing men.

[–]iamdoug 19 points20 points21 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Mindy Kaling, is one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood."

Ha

[–]K8hoxie 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah who tf wrote that... She's only relevant because Velma is so horrible

[–]ShaidarHaran2 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm so not surprised over this. All her shows feature a bunch of disgusting things. In the Mindy Project there's a plot where a guy gets blackout drunk, sexually assaulted by a completely sober woman, and then beat up by her boyfriend as the butt of a joke. In Never Have I Ever, grown 50 year old women crash their cars checking out a high school students penis through his sweats.

Clearly her whole mentality is "it's ok when women do it" and I'm not surprised at this nor will be to continue to find out she's worse than anyone thinks.

[–]hotpotato138 74 points75 points76 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

None of the women who kissed me, asked for my consent. Women usually don't ask for consent.

How many of your female coworkers or bosses did?

EDIT: What the hell? Downvotes? How many of you are making out with your coworkers?

[–]odysseytree 21 points22 points23 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What not asking for consent has to do with designation?

[–]throwaway3569387340 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree that women never choose to ask for consent and they get away with it. This is a case of a colleague doing it. There should be no consent conversation because even with consent a man would have been fired.

[–]AmphoraExplorer 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Because a plausibly mistaken quick kiss isn’t going to be charged for sexual assault but should get you fired in the workplace, especially done to a subordinate

[–]FappingFop 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You absolutely could be charged for SA for kissing someone without her consent. Context matters here, if you're on a date with a girl and you try to kiss her and she refuses and you stop immediately, I don't think you're going to get charged, but if you see someone outside of the context of dating and just go for it, that's assault.

[–]AmphoraExplorer -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok, very very likely isn’t*

[–]hotpotato138 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

None.

[–]S4z3r4c 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

...and everybody clapped and laughed...

[–]ManInSuit29 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

crazy how much shes lightened her complexion also whats going on with her eyes?

[–]ShaidarHaran2 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

She got a crazy amount of work done. Most of it not for the better, and she really seems to be trying to not look South Indian, her shows were also often criticized for her love interests always being white and then after years of that they introduced a brown guy in one of the shows who was quickly dismissed (and thrown coffee at for something that wasn't his fault), her problems with that have been well discussed in the Indian American community...

Anyways, not that that's the point, an adult can do whatever they want to their face. But it's what's on the inside that's rotten.

[–]funkypandaz 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's funny how you mention that she's not trying to look South Indian as if all Southern Indians have a distinct look. Btw she's not even Indian, she's Sri Lankan.

[–]ShaidarHaran2 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

What are you talking about?

Kaling’s parents are from India[12] and met while working at the same hospital in Nigeria. Her father, a Tamil raised in Chennai,[13][14] was overseeing the building of a hospital wing. Her mother, a Bengali[15][16] from Mumbai

And naturally you can describe certain regions as having certain features on average, even if there's always outliers and mixing in the population

[–]StingRayFins 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And people laughed or applauded. It's a shit show.

[–]lemons7472 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I actually watched a video that gave the audio of her admitting the act, and the crowd was actually cheering for her when she told everyone that she kissed an actor and threatened the staff.

Link to the video, go to 12:33 right before he shows the audio. https://youtu.be/CS86eMByosc

In the same video the OP actually goes over Mindy’s racism and how she portrays black people and white people. She has a weird sexual love-hate thing with white people and portrays it in all of her shows, and she sees black people as losers who are not worth her time, or as straight up cucks in her shows according to the video.

[–]Uzzer_lozer19 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My unpopular opinion... I don't find her funny.

[–]Spartan486 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So she’s sexually assaulting people, and probably won’t get any flack cause she is a woman…this is why I hate our society and feminism in this form.

[–]TheSnesLord 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

and probably won’t get any flack cause she is a woman

Worse that that. If you watched the clip of her on the Conan show, the audience all laughed, clapped and cheered it.

[–]not-them 34 points35 points36 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Mindy knows something that is extremely bad about HBO executives. This information, if public, could land them in jail, so she threatened to release their secret to the authorities if they didn’t give her the green light for the Velma show for multiple seasons regardless of ratings. hash tag change my mind

To the feminists or women confused as to why we’re complaining abt this, especially with the majority of men on Instagram or other social media platforms saying stuff like “I’d let her rape me” or “She can violate my rights”, those men are immature and horny. In reality, men are afraid of being falsely accused of rape by a woman just for having physical contact with her

[–]tomukurazu 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you ever watch her shows you know she's dripping in casual misandry and "it's ok when women do it" mentality. All her shows feature a bunch of disgusting things. In the Mindy Project there's a plot where a guy gets blackout drunk, sexually assaulted by a completely sober woman, and then beat up by her boyfriend as the butt of a joke. Vera Mindy Chokalingam, professionally known as Mindy Kaling

Wait a sec... her real name is Chokalingam? Lingam = penis, so her name is basically Choke-A-Dick?

So where is the Mee Too movement in all of this?

[–]TheSnesLord 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Only female "victims" can be in the movement.

[–]Future__Author 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Somehow shes the victim

[–]K8hoxie 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She's always been that way. She always does whatever she wants but then she is the victim. All her characters

[–]Drayenn 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We're now entering a puritanical age, where people goofing around on set is a crime.

In a generation or two, feminists will claim it was all men who caused this oppression. They'll say it's women who have a common sense understanding of sexual behavior. "We need to overturn these male laws that demonize normal harmless flirting and jokes!" --feminists, 2063.

[–]HurterOfFeefeesV2 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought that was when she was reading a script then she made a kiss sound? Or am I wrong?

[–]savageNDN-1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

Man I'm all for men's rights but you guys are making something out of nothing if the guy felt offended he would of made a complaint, he's totally capable of deciding what's appropriate and what's ok. Let's stop attacking women over nothing, in the interview she was just trying to be funny it was a written joke she made lol ffs guys you make us real men's right activist's look like Nazis .

[–]LowAd3406 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Periods and commas are useful tools so people can actually understand what you're saying.

[–]Fix-Advanced 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That would be thought provoking if her show didn't make an anti #metoo joke. Because it did, history determines this comment to be pathetic.

[–]TheSnesLord 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Mask dropped. Next time, don't be so obvious.

[–]blaizken_420 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn't find the surprise kiss so bad had it not been that he is gay and she abused her power over the staff. Literal Weinsten-tier shit, but she is met with cheers rather than consequences. Emperor knows what stuff she hasn't admitted to...

[–]Trixster690 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hate this bitch already.

[–]Rawlings5 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Her and Andy Samberg should get lost together.

[–]0lidag 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good thing she's bringing diversity to everything now. She's the woke Harvey of 2023

[–]otterdog891 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists would screech if Harvey Weinstein said the exact same thing but with women.

[–]kozhithalayan 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Never found her appealing in real life

[–]depressedman555 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]A_blue_horse 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She even looks like the type of person so arrogant that they think they can get away with this shit.

[–]Minute-Small 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So Mindy's basically a rapist. Noted.
