Society/Feminism/Women will never help men and guys and boys. Why do we still trying to fight or to even need to proof them or talk or even have conversation with them about Men's Rights and Problems?

Stop watching anything coming out of Hollywood. They hate us and want us dead.

[–]theSilentNerd 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

From what I've been seeing online, only asian productions aren't woke.

[–]Pretty_Network5856 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I'm pushing 50. To me, the last great era for movies was the 70's (think, Clint Eastwood westerns). And some of the 80's. It's just unfortunate that special effects are so much better now. And to my great surprise, I've recently come to appreciate some anime.

[+]TwinkForAHairyBear -6 points-5 points-4 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

the last great era for movies was the 70's

Boomer detected.

Lots of great movies are still being made, the problem is that you're not young anymore so you don't have the "wow" effect.

[–]Pretty_Network5856 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I'll give you that. Though, Boomers we're the generation before me. Gen-Xer. It's the same with all media, though. By the time you get to 50, you've seen all the variations and stories played out. Heard all the clichés demonstrated in endless love songs. Don't worry, you'll understand in about 10-20 years.

[+]TwinkForAHairyBear -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I get the point because I have this feeling with video games. I understand how they're being made and this takes away all the magic. But this doesn't imply that modern games suck.

[–]Pretty_Network5856 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm not a gamer, but I've heard this before. Besides just the same tropes repeating throughout all media on every generation, there are periods where art just stagnates and objectively sucks. The 50's were like that. But it usually gives birth to something more vibrant down the line. One can hope.

[–]TwinkForAHairyBear -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No matter the time period you pick, it's going to be someone's favorite period in art.

[–]Pretty_Network5856 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

True. But I think we should all team up on those Abstract Expressionists and finally force them to admit that that shit is just garbage.

[–]TwinkForAHairyBear 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Obviously you haven't done acid.

[–][deleted] 178 points179 points180 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I believe it. The last two film/tv productions I ever worked in (I’ve been in actor at times, and no, nothing you’d know easily), I was either murdering a woman or abusing one.

And that’s why I don’t do anything but commercials now. Just tourism and “happy” shit. I got tired of being the “abusive white male lead”. Commercials pay better anyway.

[–]Schoopdedoobap 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not gonna lie, I totally thought you meant watching commercials only instead of working in them and got super confused before rereading the first paragraph.

[–]Spare_Development615 80 points81 points82 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

They've been "buck breaking" men for the past 50 years, so we don't topple their system.

Sooner or later it'll blow up in their face.

[–]w_cruice 24 points25 points26 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It is too late to be sooner. And soon it will be too late to even be later. We are in the decline and it likely irreversible.

[–]crescent_ruin 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I dunno...look at the numbers Top Gun did. People are starved for classic heroes. Disney stock tumbled due to comic book fatigue and preaching to the level they fired the CEO and brought back Iger. WB revenues were tanking too and Hamada got fired.

[–]SgtSplacker 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And incredibly they still make the garbage content. That's how important this is to them. To basically lose billions to push the message. Disney is dead to me.

[–]crescent_ruin 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The industry is padded. Everything releasing right now was slated 2-3 yrs ago.

[–]TheNerdWonder 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Hamada was just in charge of DC stuff, not WB overall.

[–]crescent_ruin 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Never said he was the head of WB. Zaslav fired him.

[–]dw87190 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I vote for sooner. Like say, egalitarians starting a revolution

[–]Pz5 48 points49 points50 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ita all part of the entrenched sexist culture in Hollywood.

[–]ZekalMacabre 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The entrenched sexist feminist culture in Hollywood

"That was not an attempt at wokeness on our part," Goldstein said. Daley elaborated, saying, "Swear to God, it wasn't. We liked that Holga is the bruiser that does the dirty work for Edgin, and he doesn't like to get his hands dirty."

You know if it were the male characters doing the "bruiser"doing the "dirty work", the script would conveniently find a way so the smart female characters get to still emasculate the males for being so "shallow, brutish, typically thinking with their fists"

[–]Thejlas1 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm sure Mr Goldstein was not trying to be woke

[–]SuggestCR 44 points45 points46 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Every movie features women beating the crap out of men. It’s the most emasculating era in entertainment history. You can’t even watch James Bond or John Wick without women getting physical.

[–]pn1159 25 points26 points27 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

saw this tv show the other day, the new twilight zone. I noticed the female lead beat the male lead. He just stood there while she punched him in the face five or six times. He didn't attempt to trow a punch or try to block hers. Just stood there until he went down. what a piece of shit. I know he was supposed to be a criminal but seriously he can't throw a single fucking punch.

[–]ReWildingOfMen 84 points85 points86 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

It's part of the social programming we are being exposed to.

Masculine, strong, principled, uncompromising MEN are the biggest threat to our evil rulers.

Funnily enough the best way to weaken such MEN is through their women folk becoming compromised. As we DO need each other.

It's proceeding exactly and according to plan. And no solution is coming from within the system. Left or right or whatever else.

[–]SamaelET 31 points32 points33 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Masculine, strong, principled, uncompromising MEN are the biggest threat to our evil rulers.

I think it is not for the rulers. Feminists just want men with no self respect so that women can control, abuse, use and cheat on them without complaints.

[–]w_cruice 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't forget, they still demand Daddy Government be The Man and take care of them. It's more codified now, but it has been part of humanity since time immemorial.

[–]ZekalMacabre 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This right here is the correct answer.

[–]J412h 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They think they do, they marry the man who they can control. They tire of being in charge of everything and cheat on him with a Chad

They’re taught to want a weak man. The weak man is not what their true self wants. They eventually resent a man who is weak. They feel they are justified in their adultery. It’s disgusting

[–]Pretty_Network5856 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They aren't marketing to adults. This is for kids, for the next generation of tax slaves.

[–]denisc9918 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The evil rulers own the system.

[–]Futureman999 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

After reiterating that the reasons did not pertain to "woke" thinking, the pair explained that they wrote the men that way because they find it "funny and fresh,"

They're confusing "funny and fresh" with tired and dank by current year

[–]Mechanik_J 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men know. And they're not going to those movies.

[–]Dr_RxRedpill 50 points51 points52 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

The mainstream media is collaborating to suppress mens rights.

HBO Max employing a sexual assaulter and doing nothing when called out: https://youtu.be/nue7_DK8Jj8

Corrupt NBC journalist engaging in illegal doxxing of innocent people: https://youtu.be/E-ApBDPdE98

Do not stay silent. Share the news to your friends. Write to your legislators and press them to take action. The Feminist Matrix is counting on you to do nothing. We need to take a stand against their corruption.

Please subscribe and comment. We will continue exposing these charlatans one by one.

[–]A9SteakSauce 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

every movie i try to point it out i’m always met with the typical “you’re just insecure cause females are badass now and [any way to subtly mention women were actually always superior to men]”

[–]LouisdeRouvroy 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And then Hollywood wonders why global audiences now tune in South Korean TV series and movies and Japanese anime.

[–]Mode1961 43 points44 points45 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For at least a dozen years, I have noticed that all cop/detective show follow this pattern.

If the victim is male, they will be a "BAD" man, a drug dealer, an abuser etc. I haven't seen an innocent dead male victim in a long time.

If the victim is female, they will be very innocent.

[–]theSilentNerd 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wish there was another group of studios to counter this woke mob of studios and make decent stuff.

[–]AirSailer 26 points27 points28 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If the character needs to be weak as part of the plot, and it makes sense, then sure. You can't take a couple scrawny kids and put them into a situation and expect them to do strength-based heroic things. Nor can a 100 lbs female body slam a 225 lbs muscular thug. I've never met anybody who had an issue with a strong women or a weak man, unless it is obviously unrealistic within the bounds of the plot.

[–]Dependent_Skill_9924 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And it allmost allways is concerning women. Its usually at the cost of game or movie. Its also usually seen for the cringe it is. Go woke go broke

[–]Porpoise555 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not even technically opposed to unrealistic fights where a smaller women beats up a guy depending on context. The issue for me is that while this is becoming so common, there are no strong male characters for boys and men to appreciate. They are "phasing" those out.

[–]pappo4ever 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Characters like Han Solo, Conan the destroyer or Marty Mcfly would never exist today, part of the reason current movies are so terrible.

Funny thing is that some old movies had very strong female characters, like Princess Leia or Capt. Ripley but they were believable, didn't had the super-human strength to beat men double their size, like every modern female character.

[–]hendrixski 54 points55 points56 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

So... I'm OK with male roles that do not comply with old outdated stereotypes about being a "real man". What I absolutely hate are male roles where they're the "incompetent dad" or the "abusive husband" or the "dumb husband".

I do not want those anti-male tropes to continue in movies because we (the male viewers) internalize that toxic shit and we start to think that is what we are. That's bad for our mental health.

[–]SamaelET 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Or the weak husband who get abused, humiliated and degraded while smiling.

[–]hendrixski 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Will Smith, IRL? 🤣

[–]ExMuzzy 30 points31 points32 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

That's how I feel as well. If you're going to do it then get rid of the other parts of gender roles that men face like providing, protecting, etc. Right now all they're doing is socialising young men to be meek and telling them that they're bad.

By meek, I don't mean displaying emotions or anything but men who have no self respect and won't stand up for themselves.

[–]Sexybaconandeggs 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I can hardly watch most new shows (especially on Netflix). Hollywood since decades ago has gotta be one of the main reasons our culture thinks men are useless bumbling idiots who can’t do anything right — even though you can just look around and see all the work we put in our daily lives.

Countless shows: family guy, the Simpsons, king of queens, friends, etc.

[–]hendrixski 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

family guy, the Simpsons, king of queens, friends, etc.

Yup, I recently watched "Proud Family" with my kids and it's the same trope. "Idiot dad". Fuck that noise.

[–]silvrado 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is why I barely watch any tv. Just play games where I'm not shoved some agenda down my throat.

[–]ZekalMacabre 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I will not be watching this. Men are constantly being emasculated in real life, I don't need or want to see it in entertainment too.

They say it's not for "wokeness" but I call bullshit.

[–]uthinkwrong 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well, this would just confirm what we have all been thinking... why is it so hard to find a good movie these days?

Wokeness and tech seems to have totally killed art, creativity and the entertainment industry.

One year of movies and music from the 1980s or 1990s sh*ts all over the material from the past decade.

[–]w_cruice 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Critical Drinker has an entire playlist on Thai topic but here are two to get you started: https://youtu.be/tUWe11I_7Oo

All I had to see was Michelle Rodriguez.

[–]xsplizzle 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Michelle Rodriguez

honestly, shes one of the actresses i have the least problems with, she actually LOOKS the part of a tough woman unlike say, kristen stewart

[–]epicspib 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She's been annoying since the first resident evil movie.

[–]sstokes2746 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She was basically the same character on LOST a few years later.

[–]aries0413 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She can only play one character, the alpha b*tchy latino chick thats better at eveything.

[–]Ivanhunterjo1991 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yet another movie I refuse to watch

[–]dw87190 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm neither surprised by this nor the writers bragging about it

[–]SouthernSeeker 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And this surprises you... why, exactly? Masculinity, by its very nature, is an upsetting force; whether it's through competition or cooperation, the great movers and shakers of history have always been strongly masculine people. The owners and funders of movie studios are generally people with a strong interest in the status quo being maintained.

That's not always a negative thing, either.

[–]Opposite-Bullfrog-57 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do they do that? Doing that make movies sell more?

[–]MotherAce 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This movie is somehow gonna be worse than the previous, isn't it? <sigh>

Starting to realize by the time the zeitgeist gonna stop hating on masculinity(if ever), I'd be long dead, so won't ever experience that again. No wonder I don't watch much movies anymore.

[–]Wlufy[S] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You can still watch old/classic movies, before 2010s when this all wokeness and hatred started.

[–]MotherAce 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

this is true, but I'm soon 50, and having had a love for film and TV all my life, I've seen most if not almost all of worthwhile content from 80s to the 2010s.

These days I'm mostly catching up on really old classics, or hopelessly flipping thru' all the bollocks on the streaming channels. Either I'm tired of film itself, which is possible, or the current decade/zeitgeist is the worst its ever been.

I'm leaning towards the latter.

[–]The_0bserver 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Their money, their loss I suppose.

At least I know I won't watch it now. And I might have been their target audience.

[–]gafgone5 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Swear to God it wasn't meant to be woke... we love emasculating leading men".

[–]commandierinqueef 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As if this hasn't been obvious for the last fucking decade if media

[–]ImOutOfNamesNow 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So up until recent non world war times, maybe not pending what happens next.

Most men were raised by women. Learning a lot of Feminine character traits.

What’s masculine now a days?

[–]tjohn9999 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

While I may not be for it. Its a fantasy world you can have abnormally strong women and other such things in such a world. Honestly, in a world where magic exists, Magicians are basically walking, talking nukes. If I'm not incorrect the main male lead is a bard or thief either way he isn't the strong warrior male type.

[–]black_tamborine 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There was a very brief period in history, between the 1960s and the 2010s, when the genders were truly equal. That era has ended.

[–]FrankkySteen1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Is looking weak or vulnerable emasculating? Aren’t all men weak and vulnerable at times? Let’s not push the idea that only weak men are vulnerable as that’s why male suicide rates or so high.

[–]Nihi1986 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's not the only reason they are high but anyway, the thread is not really about that, it's about how they are demonizing some masculinity aspects or pushing a different stereotype. Let men be men, whatever that means for everyone.

[+]XoXSmotpokerXoX -11 points-10 points-9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So one of them is a Fairy and the other is a Barbarian in the fantasy movie that is not real, and you guys are upset. Sorry but bitching about petty shit like a children's fantasy movie is something fem-nazis do. Count me out. I would rather focus on real world problems.
