If women really were cheaper for the exact same amount of work, men would find themselves unable to find a job at all. Basic economics, never pay more than you have to for the same thing.

This is not a random lie or a lie of convenience. This is a calculated lie. The next election will, most likely, be decided by women. Chris Christie, the presumed Republican nominee, does not pole well with women and the Democrats will be piling on every chance they get. Expect to see the Democrats do a lot of pandering to women in the coming months.

I think the fact that this lie is being repeated more and more frequently is related to the fact that it is losing support among the general population as more and more studies entirely refute it.

And I'm sure there are a lot of men un/underemployed due to the depression who are getting a bit annoyed with being constantly told how privileged they are in business.

So it's like the former propaganda minister of Iraq declaring that the American forces were being destroyed ever more vigorously as the Iraqi army collapsed.

I think more than anything they're just trying to convince themselves rather than even recruit new members.

Here's how my day went yesterday. Worked an event and was paid under the table.

Show up at 11:00, help set up event outside in the cold for 2 hours. Mostly lifting and carrying things, setting up tents for vendors. Moving heavy machinery.
Work event, outside in the cold for 5 hours.
Help clean up event, outside in the cold for 2 hours.

My coworker who is female.

Show up at 12:00. Fold shirts for an hour.
Work event stand for 3 hours.
Carry shirts inside.
Boss tells her she can leave, 4 hours before I left.

We were paid the same amount.

This is pretty typical for events. One time a woman was asked to carry something heavy and she literally got mad and said, "this is man's work!"

Just to clarify though, I work with some kick ass hard working women. I don't even blame the ones that are lazy, I mean if your boss never expects you to do anything strenuous why would you? You're conditioned over time to not be expected to do anything. That's why men work harder, it's expected of them.
