Sugarbabies and prostitutes are woman who market sex as a commodity to multiple interchangable men.

Traditional marriage is a institution for the formation of families, inheritance of wealth, division of labor, childbearing, creating political and filial ties, Taking care of dependents and elderly, The establishment of legitimate children, acquiring rights and responsibilities and survival in an often traditionally hostile environment that required working as a family unit.

They are nothing alike.

Tradwives' value comes from social legitimacy (which is a thing that could be separated from their sexuality, and often is). Sugarbabes' value comes from their vibrant personality and companionship (which is also a thing that could be separated from their sexuality, but not as often). The former is more "intrinsic" than the latter in the sense that it's more independent from the individual's behavior.

This is a gross comparison. Sugar babies are people who date and/or give sexual favors to men they don't love in exchange for free stuff. They do not hold any sort of responsibility. Nor are they anyone's partner.

A traditional wife is her husband's other half. She makes less money than him, not because she is lazy, but because she takes responsibility for the children and the household. The work she does makes it possible for her husband to have children without it damaging his career. He is free to travel, work long hours, be on call, move, or do whatever else is required to reach his potential. His wife always supports him.

Even though a wife is not paid, the work she does amounts to a job. Daycare workers, nannies, governesses, maids, and personal assistants all make their living fulfilling responsibilities of traditional wives.

Some men would prefer to have their children cared for their mother rather than hired help. They would also rather have someone who loves them be a home maker instead of hiring a cleaning service and having strangers in their house.

Of course, it is an option for men and women to split both domestic and breadwinning duties, but most men don't want to. They want a super mom who can "balance career and family" while they just focus on career.

Ask yourself, are you willing to do half of the housework, cooking, childcare, eldercare, etc.? If you don't have time to do your half, would you mind being nagged? Would you be willing to tell your boss "No, I can't stay late, I need to take care of the kids, and it's my turn to make my wife dinner? Would you be willing to quit your job and move when your wife gets a career opportunity in another city?

Perhaps you would rather have an equal/higher earning wife than a traditional wife. That is not true for everyone.

A non-traditional wife was terrible for at least one person I knew. She wanted him to quit his job and move with her when she got a new job. When he refused, she became angry and moved out. Even when they were separated, she wanted him to get her pregnant. He did not want to co-parent with her, so he filed for divorce.

Financial resources are paramount in a trad relationship. A woman who wants to become a tradwife won't sleep nor marry a man who's not willing to spend on her, while men looking for a tradwife rely on their wealth to secure a relationship and sex. In fact, many supporters of traditional relationships argue that it's a wife's duty to provide sex and pleasant company to the husband even if they don't feel like it. Adding kids and a ring to the mix doesn't erase the fact that sugaring is a component in traditional relationships. Neither does it erase the fact that many women opt for traditional relationships because they can't provide for themselves the lifestyle the wish to have, while men see a stay at home mom as a symbol of status akin to a trophy wife.

if you could marry someone under the law of 1800 with all implications .. i bet there wouldnt be so much "tradwifes" who were willing to do that.

The RPW and FDS folks are nitpicking from Tradwife game from an atheist perspective. It works, but is not for everyone. The clergy red pill sisters are not good at it, not sure about the FDS folks. The fact is Tradwife-ism will never look good without the magic of subjective religious morality; otherwise the woman is a gold digger. Traditionalism cannot exist with religion. If Tradtionalism attempts to exists without religion, is male slavery. Traditionalism without religion, sexism, laws, etc, is completely servitude to the female.

There is no interesting difference that can be argued other than an existing mental disorder in the gold digger like Narcissism.

The sugar baby just takes a different route. Both entail negotiations, transactions, and upfront deal-making without the religious Xtian/theistic hoo-ha to create a false sense of morality and turning the blind-eye for the Tradwife; the Tradcon male is a fool, but a willing one.

This is where modern western women are today:

You delay marriage until late 20s, early 30s. You expect/demand a ready made man; good- career, house, car, physique etc...

Yet you haven't earned that right/privilege. Where were you during his struggle? When he was working/studying 12 or 16 hour days? When he had to put dating aside to build his career... You were off dating, being wined, dined and having fun.

If men I know, want to get married, I tell them to find non-western women, because it's more likely, that she'll be there for him during his struggles, she'll fight his corner and have his back.

She's more likely to put in the work, help him, motivate him and not just be waiting at the finish line.
