I still think he tends to gloss over the reality that an awful lot of women simply prefer a different mind of work-life balance than many men. It’s a problem if it’s compelled but how often is that, really? In most Scandinavian democracies, where men & women have more choices, more freedom & a generous safety net men & women are more likely to choose lives, lifestyles & careers which would be considered trad con in America or the UK.

It is possible a certain amount of this is baked in culturally by other lingering external factors.

The only way to actually solve the "pay gap" would be to get a 50/50 ratio of men/women in ALL career fields, which is near impossible. That includes all the fields that are 90% men, such as policemen, garbage men, coal miners, etc.

Another tangential issue to this-I've noticed how women in tech/science fields almost NEVER have a problem finding work, and if they do get terminated for some reason they have a job again by next week. Whereas me (a man) can put out 100's out applications but it will likely take 6 months or more to find work. Does anyone know if there's any research done on this? I know there was that experiment done with identical resumes where they changed the name to be female or male, but I'm looking for something more specific to STEM fields.

Doesn’t he leave out that men and women tend to form couples ( who then share funds), and, that the state and community look after women more? Based on these facts, a gender pay gap is equality. It isn’t freedom, and not the sort of equality we ought to strive for or endorse - but is fair by the lights of the current social reality.

I like Reeves, but he does seem to go out if his way to appease the people who are typically anti MRA, which is an approach I think has been tried with the left in the past and completely failed.

Maybe there's more audience for it now though, Idk.

Women choose to get pregnant during the years of critical career development, and we all have to save them from their own choices. Granted, I do not care that women take paid maternal leave because the last thing I am concerned with is that a multi-million-dollar corporation has to relinquish a portion of its millions to the employees who rake in the cash. Of course, women on maternal leave are only draining resources, but the company will survive.
