Has anybody just waited for their partner to get the ball rolling? Wife told me she wanted to separate a couple of months ago but hasn’t put anything in motion.

She’s moved downstairs and that’s about it really. I’ve consulted a lawyer, got money in my own account, have got myself pre-approved and locked in mortgage rates and even gone on a couple of dates. Been focusing my boys, lost a bunch of weight, got back into reading and just doing my own thing really. Have definitely had my moments where I’ve been a mess but have a counsellor and working through it.

I hate to lose the house but it will eventually have to be sold. Haven’t told the kids anything because there isn’t much to tell them.

For now I’m fairly content and figure she’s the one who wants to leave so she can sort it out.
