Many women even go on first dates with men they hardly know expecting them to spend money on them. The "logic" behind this is if a guy is willing to spend money on a woman by paying for dates then this means that he has money and also that he's a "real man" because to most women a "real man" is a man who caters to them and doesn't mind being used for what he can provide.

"Any qualities in a man that a woman finds useful, she calls masculine, all others of no use to her....she calls effeminate." - Esther Vilar

This is also why most women want to know what a guy they're interested in does for work. They pretend it's because they're so interested in that topic but it's just a way of finding out how much a guy makes and if he's worth their time.

I've always found it interesting that money matters so much to women that some even break up with men simply because they've lost their job. Many women are even turned off by men letting them pay for their own food on a date. This all seems so crazy until you realise that:

"For woman, man is really a kind of machine, if rather an unusual one." - Esther Vilar

And this kind of machine is expected to protect, provide and be useful to women. The crazy part is if most men can't find a woman to use them they actually feel sad and depressed.
