Do you have something better to do than hang out and have drinks with a cute girl? Just because it doesnt lead to a relationship doesn't mean there isnt any value in it. I say be friends with her. Friends are always good, especially girls.

Also if you become close friends with her, and you are always friendly and chatting at the gym, OTHER girls in the gym will notice you two having a close relationship and it will make you more attractive/approachable.

Sometimes - and not always - a push aggression in an offhand way is the way.

This is how I got my current girl and my FWB prior to her. I wasn’t in a “dating” or relationship place. I wanted to enjoy my single life. I laid ground tiles with simple and straightforward statements and let the chips fall.

I would just move on from the idea of trying to conventionally date her. She wants to hang as friends? Great. Invite her to your world. Plan to get drinks with your friends and invite her. Be cool and friendly at the gym while dropping occasional flirtatious lines and then step back by saying what a nice friend she is. She is either genuinely not looking to date, or she is testing to see how you take rejection.

Women test this aspect a lot. It's a defence mechanism and they aren't wrong to do so. If you ignore what she said about not looking to date and still press on, you may potentially ignore her when she says she is not ready to have sex yet and push on.

I've had a similar situation arise on ocassion and future projections worked for me. That way I am respecting her wish to not wanting to date yet telling her how amazing it could've been.

Not that it works the way I'd like to every time. I had met this girl, R, who was overall amazing. Beautiful, intelligent and kind. She did not want to date, I respected her wishes yet told her about what couldve been in a fun light hearted manner. We did not date, however she was my wingman for a year or so before we drifted apart. Once when we were out doing friend things, she noticed that a girl had caught my eye and she went and talked to her. She introduced us and went on saying something to the effect of how she could totally imagine us at so and so restaurant having a romantic dinner.

Of all the successes I have had in pickup, the dynamic that I had developed with R is what I treasure the most. Just having her by my side was jedi level social proof.

Ignore it and act like she didn't say it, change subject l, take her out like you still plan on closing the deal.

A friend she see's is a friend indeed, so don't act a friend. If she doesn't fall into your view then don't plan for a second date (unless you want her to be your friend.)

Or, find another girl who doesn't say things like that.

Worst case scenario, you have a hot friend now. How many hot friends does she have? How many do they have? You now have access to a network.

Best case, she’s making it clear she’s only looking for a hookup right now and doesn’t want a relationship. Based on the response you said she gave, this doesn’t seem unlikely. She made it clear she wasn’t looking for a relationship, that doesn’t mean FWB is off the table until it is.

Either way, ride it out. Even if it doesn’t work out with her, there’s still other opportunity.

I don’t know what her body language was like or how she said it but it sounds like she’s dtf. And even if she’s not, making a hot female friend is still a great use of your time. Basically, if you are just looking for a fwb then tell her that over some drinks and see what she has to say, women love it when men are straightforward.

It is worth going on a date with her. Woman always say what they don’t mean.

Ask her to hang out if she doesn’t move on.
If you go out on a date escalate and make it be known you are not a platonic friend by your actions. If you try to kiss her and take it to next level and she doesn’t than you also move on.
