Look at her rhetoric: she's joking/signalling about getting free food and a lot of it, at cost to you.

And your post here is all about, "How can I get at that?!"

You seem so concerned about how to answer correctly to someone that just signaled they see a first date as a vehicle to get free food. One of the hugest problems people have (men or women really) is that they often sacrifice too much in order to try to make something work that clearly isn't working.

Getting this focused on what to message back, isn't as productive as you'd think. Because what you're really talking about here, is puzzling over how to get into a prison of your own making if you break your back trying to get with someone who SHOULD be failing your standards.

But it's easy to fall into the trap of being so concerned with just getting in there, that we don't focus on who we're getting with.
