What used to hurt is that it would come from women that I helped. I could understand that not all women want to be domestic, I supported them working in non traditional fields, and even made sacrifices in school.

However, I've never been given the same courtesy. I can't have female friends without peole saying something, I don't care to dominate or compete, I'm sensitive and care about people's emotions. My work often had me in spaces that were mostly female and the sexism I encountered broke my heart.

To them women are people who can take on male gender roles but any man breaking out of similar comstraints are seen as deviant or weak.
