Well, I figured out he was husband material when he brought over McDonald's to my friends and me on New Year's Day because we were suuuuuuuuper hungover.

In terms of words - he's been trying to learn my language, and today he came over and told me "You are the most handsome man!" because he saw a post about comparative and superlative adjectives in my language that used the masculine form of the adjective "beautiful" as an example. He hasn't gotten to the point of learning that we have masculine and feminine forms. I thought it was cute and we both laughed about it. It's not what he said so much as the fact that he can laugh at himself that makes him husband material.

"I'm going with you to that animal shelter you were talking."

These are just some examples, but realistically I don't think it's a matter of one phrase. It's a whole attitude and behavior.

This was probably the start of it (context: I asked him out during covid). He's sweet and he's smart and he's funny and he's open about his emotions and I think this is what I liked about this.

I moved in with him and he said, “you having a job isn’t a requirement.”

There was a lot of stuff he said before that that lead to me feeling that way but this is what I remember the most clearly because it happens everytime I have a bad day at work. Haha
