Pretty much using the US public data and following presumtions:

  1. Data is mostly US in 2022
  2. Math done for SA+murder combo for stranger male in worst case scenario (SA is rape and every murder accompanies rape, as SA outnumber murders)
  3. Stranger encounters are set as 1 per woman per day. Encounters here are actual communications, not passing on the street, which is evident from 1/day setting.

set the Rape+murder combo of stranger male-to-female risk to 0,0163 micromorts or 0,00000163% chance per encounter. Which is small. You'd need to meet 61 strangers (1 mM) to make your average day (1 mM) twice riskier (2mM). Compare against:
-Ride a horse (+0,5 mM)
-Skiing (+0,7 mM)
-Walking 20 miles (+1 mM)

Anyway, while that statistic isn't particularly nice (could be better, honestly), what is nice is how little people bears kill. Less than 1 person per 2 years. And while I can't calculate how much risk beasrs pose, due to absolute lack of encounter records, I can say this:

For bears to be safer than men, given current statistics, every single woman in US has to encounter a bear every 6 years (28791608 encounters/year). If less, men are safer. If more, team bears.

But even though team bears could give themselves some credit, both of those risks are absolutely abyssmal to the risk background rate. So, smoke less, eat healthy and look both sides, when crossing the road ;)
