After two long years of court battles and motions... I am now legally divorced. When she was asked if she would like to dismiss the case (Judge asked as it has drawn on for so long) I could hear the cracking of her voice, (I was asked first if I wanted to proceed, my lawyer answered yes) she answered well If they want to proceed then yes.

I didn't file

I didn't choose to throw away my family

I didn't choose to put our kids through a world of trauma to appease my in-laws who didn't even want the marriage to begin with.

I didn't choose to file a false restraining order citing abuse that never occurred...

I could go on... what saddens me is the loss of family. She saw no value in that, no value in an in-tact family. I'm hurt for our kids but at least I can take solace in knowing that I did my best and that I need to just forge a path ahead for their sake.

The real work begins. Damn, I just wished for such a different outcome for my 4 and 2 year old. I grew up in a home without my father; that's all I wanted to give to them.
