It is as it reads. As soon as the topic of mental health comes up, literally every woman I've met so far is dealing with something serious. I'm not knocking anyone for their health, that's not fair. But I don't understand why it keeps happening. I spent 16 years with a woman who suffers from borderline personality disorder. I mean, I too have PTSD from living my life that way. I'm in no way wanting to be someone's favorite person again, or wishing to tiptoe around codependent traps set up around me. I'm gonna lay low for a bit. As a spiritual man I accept and understand that we're all sick in one way, shape or form. But I'm a single dad with 2 autistic tweens, and I just can't with all that. And it sucks, because I don't want to just write someone off because they were open and honest with me, but I can't be anyone's counselor. I don't have the energy to ask someone if they took their meds every day. I don't want to sit in my couch with my head in my hands while someone tears our bedroom apart. I don't want to call 911 because she said goodbye and overdosed on purpose. I just can't. What's the path here? Celebacy? Masturbation and a good book before bed for the rest of my life? I'm honestly thinking that may be my best bet.
